sadly disappointing some truly epics rooms at Darkmaster, but this one falls very short compared to the others.  Some illogical puzzles, some needed gamemaster to enter room (more than once) and spaces nobody other than a small child can fit.  Rework some of the puzzles, especially early in the game and this could be good, but recommend their other rooms ahead of this one

Massive room, truly epic game, loads of fun, so much variety and so many puzzles and so many original items... really good challenge ... one of our favourites

cannot get any more authentic venue... really well done, integrated into the existing museum, very clever.   Straightforward puzzles, flow is ok, would work well for families... unique location and rooms, added to the enjoyment of exploring the historic building.. great host and good fun ... really enjoyed this one, highly recommended.

excellent theming, no padlocks and good flow to a good mix of puzzles, a good challenge.  

There is a crawl-through part, with an uneven hard floor, which would not be possible for anyone with a replacement or fragile knee....I found out the hard way  (very painful).  Sand or mats would be better choice.  

Also a lack of air-conditioning or ventilation... ideally choose a cool day!

otherwise it is a really excellent room, highly recommended...  we will be back for their next room (with knee pads)

Definitely good one for families with children, some crawling/climbing which smaller people  will enjoy ... nice ending.

table top game, probably best for 1 or 2 people... very well done and good fun, but pretty quick....  more of a side event. Perhaps better to book this alongside one of the normal rooms they have (which are very good)

working around the elaborate puzzle in a defined sequence, very well done, some fun surprises.   

There is plenty of space, but as it is very linear, one puzzle at a time and relatively small space to see each one, it would suit a team of 2 or maybe 1 with a coupe of children.

We're more used to traditional rooms, but this was  fun, very well done.

Great room... superb set design and all puzzles on theme with a good variety.  Plenty to do with a logical flow throughout.  Would suit teams of 2 or 3 .. maybe cramped  with more.

The ending is a little odd and deviated from the game objective which left us a little confused.  

The host was great, he did remain in  character throughout, but wasn't over the top and didn't spoil the experience.

Excellent room, great theming.  Puzzles straight forward, but plentiful, varied and 'on theme'.  The host remained in character throughout, perhaps a bit much, couldn't always understand it, but didn't spoil the game once it started.

Our only gripe was the waiting area/bar... loud music, couldn't hear the game hosts talking to us... although that didn't matter as the rules are repeated multiple times, then again outside the room and again inside ... perhaps killing time was the room wasn't ready, but we would have preferred to be told they were running late so we could have had a drink first instead of feeling we'd been forgotten.

This is really special ... a perfect follow-on from CandyLand 1 ... and something we have not seen anywhere else... very clever idea and well executed.   Again, good quantity of puzzles, many can be completed in parallel, keeping everyone busy .... really nice finish.

Highly recommended ...   

huge quantity of puzzles and very fast pace, along with a good storyline... really enjoyed this room.  Although there is a sequence, there is plenty of room for teams to split up, keeping the whole team involved.... highly recommended

Superb set, wide variety of things to do both physical and mental... puzzles straight forward, but enough of them to keep the pressure on .... along with some unexpected surprises along the way. Quite a few padlocks but kind of fits the theme well.

All of the escapement games are really excellent, but we feel this is their best yet, certainly one of the best in the country.  

As always the theming and set design is first class, you can see where you are and you feel like you are part of it... the puzzles are varied and totally fit the storyline.  

They always make time for a good chat after the game and it is clear their passion is to push boundaries in game design, not just technical or aesthetics, but all aspects including how the dynamics work with different groups .. it certainly works for us... all of their games are in our top ten ... this one just tops the others and we can't wait for their next room !
