We are throwing you in jail. You have committed a heinous crime and your punishment is life without parole. You will be imprisoned at Standfast Jail, Tunbridge Wells.
30 years ago, ex-prisoner Joseph Wendle attempted to escape Standfast Jail. Over the five years he was held there, he created an elaborate escape plan which, on July 23rd 1989, he executed right up until the final stage when he was caught red handed attempting to steal the Warden’s keys. Unfortunately, prisoner Wendle was transferred to a high security unit in Dover, but fortunately for you he has left a trail of intricate clues and codes to help lead you to freedom.

Brilliant atmosphere and set design - loved having to unscrew a dresser from the wall and crawl through into a tunnel! Great mix of hands-on puzzles with different input methods, and funny quips from our prisoner ‘guide’ - great to have pre-prepared responses!
Quite a classic game but still had some interesting and clever puzzles that put a fun spin on something we thought we'd seen before. The set looked great and felt like a proper prison. Another great game from Clue Cracker!

Our final game to complete the Clue Cracker set and their oldest and most traditional game, Jailbreak is testament to the fact that, even without all of the bells and whistles of their newer, more theatrical and fancy games, Clue Cracker simply don't know how to set a disappointing game. Each game of theirs is quality on quality and Jailbreak - an absolute padlock-fest - is no exception. The set design is excellent, the puzzles are super (including one particular multi-level puzzle that was just gorgeous), the gameplay flows seamlessly and the hosting is second-to-none. You just can't go wrong!
Back in 2016, before there were any permanent escape room venues in Margate, Clue Cracker ran a six week pop up game there named Jailbreak. Three years on, the same company are back with a revamped version of that game, now at a permanent location in Tunbridge Wells, attached to a pub. (I’m always surprised more escape venues don’t do this, since the first thing many teams want to do after playing a game is sit down and discuss it over a meal and a drink.)

We don’t normally detour to venues with just one room, but as we’d heard good things about Jail Break at Clue Cracker we decided to make an exception and swing by Tunbridge Wells - it was worth it.
This is a room not to be missed. With the combination of superb attention to detail, a massive array of puzzles, the intensity of the game play and the passion from the team, the team at Clue Cracker have hit the jackpot with this game!
Impressive work from a company opening their first permanent room. Worth a trip if you are in the area (and if you are not in the area as well to be honest)
