Irresistibly original concept for a room, really fun and loads to do for 2 people. Ok, it has dated and could do with some maintenance really, several bits of tech were broken, but this was all mitigated very well by our host Onyx who made sure it didn’t affect our enjoyment at all. Some nice puzzles. If you don’t turn up expecting a glossy movie set type experience you’ll enjoy it. Really fun vibe from the whole place (even the toilets!), these people are clearly puzzle enthusiasts and we would definitely return to try their other rooms next time we’re in the area.

Really fun room hosted by Toby today (elvis parsley!) - we had a great time and a really successful attempt. Mixture of puzzles and challenges- some running involved too which was fun! 

Anyone who would enjoy supermarket sweep would definitely enjoy! 

Immersive room with a clear forward plan, whilst avoiding the real guard patrolling the corridors. Good use of THREE (Yes - you heard right- three floors) involving infiltration, stealth and as it turned out speed. Well hosted and well worthwhile on spending any time over 24 hours in Margate

Had excellent fun with the Heist escape room, an experience over 2 (or was it 3!) floors which made it really immersive. Our host, Onyx, was great and I look forward to our next adventure there.

We had such an amazing time at Ctrl Alt Escape! Toby our games master was amazing and so funny, he had us all in stitches and made it so much more memorable! Toby was a fantastic host from the moment we arrived to the moment we left! Thank you Toby!

What a fantastic experience, some of the best fun you can have, great puzzles great theme and the host Toby was the best host we’ve ever had and we’ve done over 100 rooms amazing 

Really unusual aspect to this game and it made the whole thing feel more adventurous because of it. Good game with decent puzzles- I didn’t like the check in and be told what to do next nature of the room though. Without that it’d be a 4.5/5

This was our first ever escape room and we loved it, the host was brilliant, the puzzles got you thinking and really working as a team.

We are definitely coming back with new family members. 

First time playing the heist, unique experience, multi room and levels, sneaking through the building, great puzzles.

Our game guide Onyx, was amazing! friendly eyes in the sky, and scary security guard!

We had a great time!

 We hadn't done an escape room in a while, so we were a bit rusty, and the room was harder than expected. However, we had a great time. The staff were really good and engaging, keeping our momentum going when we were getting stuck. We will definitely be back again. 

A fun, enjoyable experience. The staff were very attentive, while maintaining character throughout the game.

Great game, the puzzles stay with the theme

We found this one quite tricky, had to get quite a few hints to get on the right track through the whole game.  It was fun but some of the puzzles were hard to figure out.

We found this one quite tricky, some of the games needed multiple people to capture a sequence, it took us a few attempts.  The set is superb and really sets the mood, we managed to release tink and save the day! 

When we played it was quite aged and very soon to be removed.  Ideally you needed two teams to keep the game play going, diffuse the bomb, and steal as much money as you could before the mafia boss returned.  It was fun but a lot of hard work!

Great game, an there's a real bar you can buy drinks while playing.  The games were well thought out, the set has great detail and the ending was really fun!

Kind of a supermarket sweep vibe, the host was really funny and made the game!  It had us laughing while we were playing.

Brilliant time had celebrating my daughter’s 16th birthday with her friends. The whole experience was incredible and so fun with all the different puzzles. All of us had great fun. The games host Toby was great. We can’t wait to come again soon

A really unique game - a good laugh throughout!  Would recommend for smaller groups due to linear nature of the puzzles. 

This game was such a good laugh! Some clever puzzles and a very different feel from the normal escape room experience!

Excellent fun afternoon, suitable for kids (over 10 for the heist) and adults. Would highly recommend and would definitely try the other experiences on offer. Toby was the perfect host - thank you! 

We had the best time ! Toby was a great host / security guard ! We thought we wasn’t doing very well but ended up having the best time and did really well 

Brilliant game, was a laugh. Recommend as family game or date night 

Definitely good one for families with children, some crawling/climbing which smaller people  will enjoy ... nice ending.

This is quite a quirky game.  Its light hearted and flows nicely.  Its nothing ground breaking in terms of set or too challenging but its a good solid game and did keep us busy.  Its also not too linear which is nice so even a group of 3 or 4 can be all involved at once.  Thanks for hosting us Simon!

One of the hardest I have ever done, it was fun but very confusing sometimes as nothing was connected to anything

It’s a very difficult game to rate, as it is very different to other experiences we have played. It definitely has the fun and feel good factor. Everything seems to be themed very well and great attention to detail. I agree that some of the props are tired but that didn’t let the experience down for us. I guess, we all agreed the set would have been better bigger. But did well with the space given. I think any age and experience level will love this game, maybe not for those looking for a tough challenge. 

Great game! Immersion for sure! Really felt like being back at school again with some really funky puzzles and a couple of ‘oh my god’ moments including the final dash for the escape! Definitely worth a trip if you haven’t been yet! 

Absolutely hilarious! A fast-paced trolley dash that we found ourselves tearing around. While light on the puzzles, the enjoyment factor was through the roof. Definitely not a traditional escape room - so something to be aware of for those looking for a puzzle-fest - but a brilliant time nonetheless.

What an absolute blast this was! A real nostalgia trip, this room is unique and quirky and packed with hilarious jokes and lovely puzzles.

The premise of breaking out of detention is a great idea for an escape room and it is executed really well.

Such a uniquely constructed game with some seriously cool elements that made this an absolute hoot! There is an actor in the room for good reason and we found that this added to the enjoyment; some, however, might dislike having someone in there.

It's a very different kind of room with some humour thrown in - we had a fabulous time.

We have blooming loved all of the Ctrl Alt Esc games that we have done. Superb ideas, creative puzzles, super enthusiastic hosts and we love chatting with them after.

The set design is hand made and very cleverly fits with the theme (they are even getting a license so you can have a drink while you play). The GM is in the room with you for most of the game which feels weird at first (I was trying so hard not to ask idiotic questions) but fit the storyline perfectly. 

Bessie (I hope I have that right) is a great feature and the voiceovers, decor and finale make this such a fun game, I highly recommend it. They may not have the expensive polish of some of the big games companies but the ideas and creativity are some of the best in the UK. Highly recommended, you will have FUN!

On paper, this sounds an amazing game, it sounds very Supermarket Sweep.
The reality is a game that on the day of launch would have looked great, now there are broken, fixed-to-shelves props and some running about which should be fun, but somehow misses the mark.
The finale was odd, it was a game of Bop-it where you get chained together. Not sure how or why that works with the "story" to this game, and we had really had enough after 1 round, let alone 4-5. 

Immensely funny and frenetic, with more than its fair share of cheesy puns! Great game for families as theres lots to interact with. Love the Dale Winton-esque host too!

Fun room with some funny nods to kids tv and culture, especially if you were a child of the 80's. Lots to do and great fun!

Such a fun game to play. The host was brilliant, with a snazzy gameshow jacket and giving it a full performance. The game is basically supermarket sweep, with lots of added things to find, great puns and silly fun. It could maybe do with a bit of a spruce up but that did not stop us enjoying it. A riot.

Maybe not quite your typical escape game, you don't have to escape as such, but you do have a lot of riddles and conundrums to solve to maximise your score!

for those of us who grew up watching Grange Hill (google it), this was a lot of fun incorporating some clever injokes.  The hosting was excellent but be warned I think this is a hard room, also organise, you get a lot of information quite quickly so you need to sort items as you may need some in the future.

A unique theme with a great set and soundtrack. Puzzles were very fun and well integrated to the theme, but could perhaps benefit from better signposting. The clue systems are inventive and our host Mark gave nudges at the right points. A lot of fun, and well worth playing.

A different theme from the usual ones which makes a nice change.  Was good fun.

Odd game to give 5 stars to but just cannot argue with howuch fun we had in the "room". 

This day we did 6 rooms in Margate and this was someuch needed light relief, and so much fun. 

Was our 6th room of the day so brain was definitely not at its best - but room was really good, glad weanaged to get to it just before it closes. 

Ok, it was a box room, black chalk board, desks, projectors and many other props, but that was what was so great about it too. It really brought us back to as if we were in school. There was such a nostalgic feel to this room, that made it really fun to play. Usually I would want an escape game to really take me to another place as if I wasn't in a room, but this really fitted the theme. 

Puzzles were fun to find and solve. The GM was really great at hosting and really played the part.

Would recommend this room, but in particular, to anyone who went to school in the 80s/90s. 

Would love to try out their other games if we get a chance to come back!

This was a very fun room which took us back to a 1970s/80s school room.  There’s a lot of “stuff” in this room and we wasted time looking for things so keep organised.  Great attention to detail.

Not your average game at all, reminded me more of a treasure hunt with a twist, but, a couple of clever a puzzle nevertheless to give that ah yes moment of satisfaction. Was still a lot of fun to play.

A brilliant nostalgic trip back to the classroom! My favourite room of theirs so far. The team are great and they pay attention to the details in their room builds.

Not your typical escape room but good fun. Elements of the room could do with improvement as lots of exposed wiring etc and many areas are already showing signs of wear despite it being a fairly new room which let things down a bit.

Not your traditional escape room, but really great fun and a fabulous host. Some very entertaining euphemisms in that game. As one didn't immediately click with me, I dread to think how much the host must have been laughing. 

For those who have played it: I was standing by the vegetables and said to my partner something along the lines of 'I don't know how to xxx, you're much better at xxx, why don't you xxx'

The GM was great and straight in to character as a strict teacher with a few quick telling offs, this and the old style school room fully immerses you in to the theme and has a great nostalgic feel with elements like the projector. The clue system was also clever with a good theme tune. Lots of fun to be had and a good mix of puzzles which stick to the theme and fit different lesson types. 

The room starts by descending to a courtyard and needing to gain access, the set here is simplistic and yet immerses you in to your challenge and the theme. Inside the design is still aligned and there is plenty to work through with some fun puzzles/games to complete. The ending is original and humorous. Thoroughly enjoyed this room. 

Brilliant room, worth it. But. I hate to complain, being summer, the heat in the room is really bad, no aircon or air flow. By the end of the game we was all wet and uncomfortable. 

Great game. Really fun and innovative and enjoyable.

Wanted to enjoy this so much as yet to play a great space game. Sadly was not what I was expecting from a tech led company. So much potential, was an ok game. 

Very enjoyable game, I liked how the start introduces you to the game world and there were several puzzles for us to work on. Needed some cluing for search fails (and there was some hard searching here in all honesty) but otherwise the puzzles were fun and logical and built to a clear ending - which is fun and pretty different. Lovely GM overseeing proceedings who kept the game humorous. 

A good example of how a game can be fun without having fancy set dressing or technology with the old classroom setting that will look very familiar to anyone who went to school in the 1980s. Good use of the environment for the game and things for the most part feel like they should be there. Did find the GM was rather keen to overclue early on but did tone it down a bit on request.  

Perhaps not the hardest or most beautiful game but genuinely so much fun, really friendly staff, good GM for our game. Well thought out with a great ending! 

Went in without realising how fun this one would be. Had lots of elements i've not seen in any other rooms and was just an absolute treat to play!

Fantastic Classic Room with a ton of things to do! You'll find yourself singing away to the Music.

A school might not seem like a very promising theme for an escape room, but the set was well done, and a massive nostalgia trip for anyone who grew up in the late 80s/early 90s. Great use of humour and lots of puzzle variety - there were padlocks yes but lots of other stuff too, and a fairly non-linear progression so even a large group would have plenty to do. Two of us were certainly kept busy for 70 out of a possible 90 minutes.

Unfortunately this room has now closed because of issues with the building lease, I hope they can recreate it elsewhere in future.

This room was superb. Everything in the room was amazing but the best part about the room was the clue system! You got 2 different ways to get clues (I won't spoil it). One of my favourite room I had ever done!

This room was fun alot of technology puzzle. But there was so many technical issues but it didn't ruin our experience.

This room is great. They had no padlock (I love padlock so that was a bummer) but the puzzle did not disappoint me. Only issue I had with this room is the lighting but still a great room.

Really fun and unique concept. I like that there aren't any padlocks, it makes the tasks really different and fun.

Again, the fact that you get 90 minutes is great. The theme was awesome and the range of different tasks was really good. The concept is great. Definitely recommend.

This was one of the first rooms we did and we loved it. I think it's great that you get 90 minutes rather then just 60 minutes. The decor is great and so is the theme. Definitely recommend.
