Definitely lived up to the reviews, however like others have said I think we were in 5th gear the entire time we had no idea of the storyline.  This doesn't really bother us though. Felt quite chuffed to escape at their 41% success rate with an average of 8 clues when we only had 1 (we're usually terrible 😂)

I was so so excited to play this game and it nearly lived up to my expectations.   The actual accommodation was really lovely and extremely clean and modern.   A BIG thing we wish we'd have known beforehand was how the sleeping arrangements were set up.   We went just as a couple  as we didn't want to go with friends and find out that we would all be sleeping in the same room.   However,  if we'd had known that there were 2 separate bedrooms and bathrooms we would've gone with another family and saved half the price making the entire experience way more worth the money.   As a pair it was too expensive so we wish we'd had this knowledge beforehand.   We also wish we'd known that we could've taken our children and they would've had space to play/watch TV etc without getting in the way of the game itself (then saving babysitter for the night).   I'm not sure why this info isn't supplied as I would imagine they'd get more bookings and I can't see that it's any type of spoiler at all.   In fact,  they even provide board games,  games console etc so it would've made a great group games night if we'd had known.

The weird thing about the experience is not knowing how much more you have left to go so we didn't know when to stop at night as didn't want to leave too much to do for the next morning,  I think some kind of tracker would be useful for players.   As a guide for others we started at 4pm and finished at midnight,  if we had known we was going to finish that night,  we would've gone a bit easier and relaxed for dinner to save some of the game for the following morning.

The game itself was fun,  if you've played Rob The Bank,  it continues from that storyline but it's not essential for you to play that,  however it was fun to see the returning characters.   The biggest negative for the actual game was how much reading and books were involved,  the most I've ever come across in our 50 rooms.   I'm a speed reader but my husband would've given up I think,  the reading was probably 50% of the game.

Overall,  it was nice to do something different but I would've liked there to be a lot less reading and more info beforehand.

Definitely worth a visit as a group but not as a duo.

Great fry up at the cafe round the corner for the next morning!

Lived how you can choose the difficulty and also the added job that can be added on for kids.  2 special touches that make a big difference.  Such a beautiful room and everything flowed perfectly and extremely logical

Based on the filmed Jumanji we was excited to play this.  The rooms flowed well and everyone had plenty to do, my o ly negative was that you had access to info before you needed it so before entering we was giving quite complicated instructions advising us to write things down if we get any information as we could late need this information.  You don't quite know what this info is so are not prepared to write it down but then you only get q chance further along the line at getting something correct, I'm not quite sure what you do if you didn't hear the thing the first time, it was all a bit xo fusing to be honest.  Secondly, as mentioned in another review, as you're getting down to the final seconds, it would be amazing if they were to play the jungle drums getting louder and louder, this would've really built the tension when doing that q final thing and then a final loud fanfare or something but there was just a small voice that we couldn't really hear to say we'd been successful and the gm came in.  A shame as it could've been made quite spectacular in those few last seconds.  Despite this, an imersive room with mostly logical, good puzzles, fun for all of the family.

We visited on 1 of the hottest days of the year so struggled a bit in this set of rooms with small spaces.  It was probably the heat but we got quite stressed with a few puzzles.  However, the set was very pretty and I must stress how much on a different day we may have felt completely different.  We have played their Inbound game which is up there in our top 3 favourite games so please do not let this review put you off visiting this amazing location with lovely hosts.

Another humourus game from Gatwick Escapes. Don't play this company's games if you're not prepared to poke fun at yourselves and have a bit of a giggle.  I do prefer a larger room (not sure why as plenty was packed in) but if you need cheering up, this is a great light hearted fun game for all!

Very funny game, unique interactions with gm.  Amazing large set too.  However, some  puzzles didn't feel all that logical and a lot of gameplay was spent "acting" rather than doing puzzles.  A nice change from the norm and the set creates a great realistic van to street to bank robbery scene.

A fun game to play in between escape rooms, we were terrible at it but really enjoyed it

One of the best themed rooms we've ever seen, felt like a Disney set!  3 particular aspects you'd never expect to find/do in an escape that were so fun and unexpected. Extremely beautiful and atmospheric. The puzzles let it down a little but Id put this down to experience as they had only been open a few months.  Quite pricey but seriously worth it for a special treat.

We paid for 2hrs knowing as a pair we'd never complete. It took us all of those 2hrs.  Very pleased they've upped it to 90mins as felt it was unfair before as just impossible to complete in 60 min

I know this is not really a popular opinion but we just didn't find this game special at all.  I get that the Loops gimmick is clever but I think we'd hyped it up too much and was expecting something far more jaw dropping. The puzzles, despite being extremely difficult felt very dated and dull.  The only positive really was the best gm intro we've ever experienced, almost worth it just for that!

Seriously impressive. Wish we had been pre-warned the unlikelihood of 2 newbies escaping.  Issues with understanding the clue “accent” it Lost us valuable time.  Otherwise we would’ve given higher rating

The set is amazing, really seeming like a bunker, even down to the briefing room.  We visited some time ago so it may have changed now but the clue system was a bit odd and some puzzle were quite hard but definitely worth a visit.

Don't think because it's called Asylum its going to be scary because it's not.  It's act3a great room, spread out over quite a large area.  You move through the rooms as the story opens up further.  Some clever tech and interesting puzzles.  There's little reviews on this location  but don't let that put you off.  I particularly liked the start.  Love it when you have to find you way to your teammates!

First ever game played so I see it a bit through rose tinted spectacles possibly.  Now with experience I believe it may be slightly easier for enthusiasts but it was perfect for newbie.  No matter your experience though, the set it still up there as one of the best we’ve seen 😊
