Fantastic game with non-stop action and superb puzzles. Set design was spot on and our host Elaine was super friendly and gave helpful nudges when needed. Perhaps wish it was less padlock heavy but generally you knew which puzzle related to which padlock and all the puzzles were great fun, clever, and well signposted. Otherwise can't fault the room; it's amazing and absolutely worth playing.

Brilliant game which ranks as my favourite at Hounds (just narrowly beating Southern Discomfort) and one of the best I've played. Everything just works so well: the set is stunning and immersive, puzzles are great and varied, and game flow is perfect. It all culminates in an exciting conclusion and the whole game is very theatrical and engaging. Our GM Robert the Snobert was a great character and gave hints at the perfect times. Highly recommended!!

There's a reason this room has such an amazing reputation! We spent the full hour totally immersed and solving non-stop puzzles which were really fun and varied. Theming is great, and the tension this room creates left us buzzing! We escaped having found all but a pair of well hidden items. GM Cerys gave useful nudges when required and the ability to look back at hints on the screen was really handy. Probably the most fun I've had in an escape room.

This game is awesome and unique which kept us on our toes the whole time. Puzzles were plentiful, really fun and well themed. Our GM James was really involved and ran a great game for us, plus handled a slight tech issue really well. Apparently we did rather well, as only one other team has got all the dream keys before!!

Solid game with some fun puzzles and an exciting ending. Our GM James was really chatty and talked us through the small hints we'd missed after the game. Some funny references in game gave us a chuckle.

Really fun room and our GM Anna was friendly and ran a great game for us. We enjoyed the "get as far as you can" concept so all teams feel they've accomplished something and thought the puzzles were interesting and enjoyable. Also managed to beat the record time!!

Feels like an attempt was made to be creative by not having any padlocks but it feels cheaply done with broken tech and a tacky set. Some of the puzzles were cool, but others either didn't work (items got stuck etc) or were super fiddly. Non-linear so good to split up and all work on something, but the space is kinda small. GM was enthusiastic and friendly

Immersion and theming is great here, and puzzles all feel like a lot of thought has gone into them to make them less standard. Our host James was great. Only criticisms are that the finale puzzle felt a bit lazy and easy compared to the others and some of the props are a bit worn and difficult to see. Otherwise, a really good game and just wish there was more of it!

Amazing design of the room which leaves you fully immersed. Our host was excellent and only gave help when specifically requested, as well as a great run-down of the game after finishing (the obligatory Escapement experience). Puzzles were excellent and well themed, although I wish a couple had slightly better signposting to avoid us needing a hint (might've been us being morons however). Overall, a fantastic game and I think slightly tops Mutiny (Tulleys) as my favourite pirate escape room.

Our favourite game at the Escapement and one of the best games around. Theming is fantastic and host Adam was great! Puzzles flow really well and the tension ramps up as you near the end.

After being disappointed with polar station I had low expectations but we were pleasantly surprised. Challenging but plenty for 4 players we thought. Some cool puzzles and a satisfying conclusion. Would recommend

One of the best I've played! Really inventive puzzles and a great theme. Host was excellent and in character the whole time. Nothing bad to say about it, you'll have a blast

Pretty good fun but quite easy and light on puzzles. Theming is okay but definitely showing its age and there were so many red herrings that it was difficult to know what information is relevant. Could do with a renovation to refresh the set and add some more involving puzzles. Host (Charly?) was super friendly.

What a game!! Had such a blast playing this. Set design was excellent, puzzles were inventive and well themed and the GM Nick was fantastic: super friendly and gave the perfect amount of help. Really deserves its top spot amongst Brighton rooms and I can't find anything bad to say against it

Intially decent theming but felt tired later on. Very light on puzzles, and those that did exist involved following instructions or using keys. Only 1 puzzle involved actually thinking (a lot of numbers to remember with only 2 people and nothing to write on) and another had basically nothing to indicate what to do (trial and error with dodgy props) so wasted us a lot of time. As well as this, game flow was poor - we often found ourselves wondering what to do next or thinking we'd missed something.  GM was friendly though.

Really intense room and our host Nelson was great - asking how we wanted our clues delivered and giving hints when needed. Game flow felt a bit poor in the first room where there were a lot of padlocks and little to indicate how to solve them. A piece of tech (a laser puzzle) didn't work and the ball puzzle didn't make sense to us but otherwise the puzzles were standard yet fun. Felt like the area at the end (corridor as you escape) was wasted and would have been cool to have some puzzles in there. Overall, scary and immersive but puzzles could be improved to make this a great room.

Pretty good detective game with a cool bit of tech. Very linear although puzzles are pretty good and engaging. Main problem was not knowing whether to focus on solving puzzles or solving the crime scene, then we were docked time for tackling the crime scene at the end of the game. A decent beginner game and fun to play.

Enjoyed the start to the game and it developed into a non-linear affair with fairly standard puzzles. Theming and story are okay, enough to get you immersed. Didn't particularly enjoy the finales puzzles and our host was rather trigger happy with clues, especially giving us full solutions instead of gentle nudges. Worth playing

A decent game but can't help feeling like the first room is very similar to Nethercott Manor at Tulleys, even down to a few of the puzzles. The rest of the room is better and more unique, although the puzzles are rather average. Worth playing

There were a couple of interesting puzzles but that can't excuse the awful game flow, lack of creativity, terrible host (a baby monitor clue system and no cameras, seriously!?!) and nonexistant theming or story. All round worst room I've played

One of the best set designs for a room, and pretty good game flow. Wished there was more as we escaped with 20 mins to spare. Really fun room, great in-character hosting and highly rated the pigeon clue system

The first game I haven't escaped but it was a worthy opponent. Set was amazing and unique plus the puzzles were quite fun - except a final anagram puzzle that we couldn't crack :(

Clue delivery is top notch and hosting was great. Plenty of story

Kinda average. Unattentive host and the puzzles didn't flow well particularly. There were some interesting ideas but felt poorly executed and cheaply designed. Underwhelming conclusion to the story

Having played Maoic Crisis, we thought it was one of the poorer rooms we'd played with a few areas for improvement, although it wasn't all bad.

Positives first: Staff were friendly, reasonable pricing compared to other escape rooms, we enjoyed ourselves, decent theming.

Now the negatives:

- The story was literally read to us from a sheet of paper - this immediately screams poor quality. It was an interesting narrative for the room and could have been well executed if it was delivered in a more exciting and engaging manner.

- Most of the puzzles involve finding a code and inputting into a computer which lacks imagination.

- Many of the puzzles required guesswork and randomly trying numbers in different orders, this is poor design.

- Set design felt lackluster. Lighting was poor and we couldn't see the puzzles and numbers a lot of the time.

- There was nothing to write on in the room, which didn't help when there are a couple of maths puzzles.

- Hints were poorly given. The host basically gave us the answer after we struggled for a bit, instead of prompting us with suggestions of what to try. This takes the fun out of the puzzles.

- Game flow is poor. There are not actually many puzzles in the room and they have to be done one at a time, so half the team was often left doing nothing.

Overall, the room worked and we had fun, but it felt janky and lazily put together. Instead of discussing which bits of the room were awesome and made us think like we often do with other rooms, we found ourselves slating the puzzle design, being annoyed at having to guess codes and having the host give us answers instead of hints. The theme and story is unique and has potential, just the puzzles need to be more imaginative and interesting to raise the quality of the room. 2/5
