I liked the idea of this room—where you only get a set amount of time in each area before you have to move on—although I've seen it better executed in other rooms (e.g., Time Run). On the one hand, it gets you to see everything in the room, but on the other hand, you're left frustrated that you didn't solve all the puzzles.
Disappointingly, the set was a major letdown - I've said it is "tired", but it isn't clear that it ever was a decent set, and I really had to stretch credibility at times with the settings for some of the areas. Perhaps the "dreamer" in question didn't have a particularly vivid imagination...
We did really well with most areas and solved almost all the puzzles. However, there was one area we didn't get on with, and we only solved half the puzzles. There were also a few instances of the tech not working.
That said, you don't have to solve all the puzzles to have a chance at "escaping" - solving the puzzles just makes it easier.
Decent room but it could have been so much better!
Hosting was great.
Accessibility: You have to go up one flight of steps to get to the room. There are no major issues inside the room, although there's one area where having a sense of balance is helpful.
A room with great high potential, low deliverance. Several unique challenges mixed in in several uninspiring rooms with puzzled that felt convoluted and sometimes pointless to the final outcome. A few of the challenges required subject specific knowledge however a majority were still enjoyable. #LeftMeDreamingForMore
A great range of puzzles and lots to do!
The premise involves only having a limited time in each area of this room, meaning that it can be frustrating if your group takes a bit of time to get warmed up (like our group) meaning you are forced to abandon partially solved puzzles with no chance to come back to them.
On the flip side, though, the format of this room allows for multiple sets of puzzles with a good range of themes (albeit with a few more combination padlocks than we would have liked).
Think this room has huge potential but our experience wasn't enhanced by the host. Felt like we were just given a standard set of information and could have been delivered with more detail. The clue system is frustrating as it plays the same clues repeated and a voiceover mic would be really helpful. Enjoyed the room just think it's not far of being 4+ stars!
Thoroughly enjoyed the gameplay and ending to this game, we've seen similar but this was a great take on it!
I will say, this should have been a 4/5 star game but it looks so rough now, it completely ruined the emersion for me, with some TLC this could be great again!
Loved the way the room was split up into mini-rooms with things to collect along the way - very fast paced with a lot of non-linear puzzles so everyone could work on something at the same time. Beautiful design, great use of space, great hosting from James and a real variety of puzzles.
It's a fun take on the 'collect all you can' concept but with a clever twist that worked really well. This has a lovely big floor plan with lots to explore and some super puzzles to stretch the grey matter.
We had a blast in here and spent the whole time busy solving puzzles. A quirky room that felt really unique and provided us with lots of talking points afterwards!
Lots of small puzzles across multiple rooms, some were too easy, others were very challenging, but to escape you only need to escape the final room which is very easy if you do reasonably well in the earlier rooms.
Loved the concept, some areas really tricky as a two but didn't take away from the overall enjoyment. Some very original puzzles. Lovely enthusiastic host. Would recommend.
Think of this as 4 mini escape rooms that feed into the final room and eventually escaping. Due to the dream theme the room felt chaotic in a good way and lead to a great variety of puzzles that each fit their respective themes. Some insanely cool elements of the game - my favourite game in Notts that we have played!
A fast paced room, essentially it’s 5 mini escape rooms, all different to each other with some unique puzzles we hadn’t seen before.
Great hosting, lots of different puzzles, it is slightly cramped in some areas particularly as we’re on the larger size but we managed and successfully escaped.
A unique room that requires you to travel between dreams to wake up a sleeping scientist. Extremely well done and wonderful hosting too. Highly recommended.
Some parts slightly worn/low production value but it was sooo much fun. We loved this game.
Very different concept to anything we have played before and thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish. We left with 17 dream keys. Well thought out and well hosted.
This game is awesome and unique which kept us on our toes the whole time. Puzzles were plentiful, really fun and well themed. Our GM James was really involved and ran a great game for us, plus handled a slight tech issue really well. Apparently we did rather well, as only one other team has got all the dream keys before!!
Fun and creative room. Very playful throughout with a clever concept to drive us forward. The time restraints kept it intense which I loved. Lovely host who was very attentive.

Amazing. So immersive and creative, there’s no room I’ve seen like this. A must if you head to Nottingham.
Superb. The less you know the better, so I'll leave it at.....superb. From the minds of geniuses.
Great fun for the full 60 minutes.
Very fast paced and no time to dilly dally.
Great host and interesting venue.
Really interesting use of time in the room. Set mini challenges and team work feels essential. This helps bring the team together and no one should feel left out. Non linear too which I love. Great idea!
This was our second visit to Cryptology and it's great that the staff dress up, we didn't really notice for our first game. The briefing took a long while, but it's because your are doing 5 escape rooms not one. This would have been the full 5*s if we got chance to complete every puzzle, but this was mentioned in the breifing that the game has been made like this. This is one for the expert, so different and lots and lots of fun!
Great game host gave us a clear briefing for a complex setup. This is five rooms in one, each with a different style. Lots of stuff to do so you never get bored or stuck watching somebody else, with a huge variety of puzzles so there’s something for everyone. Plenty of touches of humour too. A few places were a bit cramped, especially with five players.
Great idea, keeps you very busy. Just doable as a 2 although you need to be on your A game. Definitely recommend.

This isn’t a typical, search every corner for items type of room. This is solve as many puzzles as you can in the time and get rewarded for those that you do solve type of challenge. This means that even if you don’t do so well at the beginning, you still have a chance to progress to the end and “escape”!
Think of it as a Crystal Maze episode where you are all allowed to take on all the challenges in all four zones one after the other, where they open all the doors in each zone and the whole team just goes and works on all the puzzles simultaneously, obtains crystals (dreamkeys) for solving those puzzles, and then moves on to the next zone. The final zone (dream) is made easier the more puzzles you have solved, but you all get a chance to tackle it not matter how well you did.
It is worth spending about 12 minutes in each room, to maximize your chances, but you can move on if you do manage to get all 5 keys from that room earlier than that.
We collected 18 of the 20 keys and escaped in time, getting the second fastest time of any 3 person team to take on the Dreamscape!
Puzzle fans will love this one. It really is like a test of your puzzling skills as a team, and for everyone’s individual strengths. We had a Math whizz in our team who solved the number based puzzles in record time. Similarly I whizzed through the wordy ones, and together we did the logic and physical challenges.
Highly recommended for something a bit different, an immersive experience with a lot of laughs and clearly a room where the owners have thought outside the box and put a lot of time and effort into make something fantastical, varied and humorous that will have broad appeal. And they did just that!
The rooms were incredible – Dreamscape plays out like an escape room fan’s actual dream, with a huge volume of puzzles, all focussing on different strengths, and a great flow between each of the dreams! Each dream was so different from the previous and the types of puzzles in each room were SO cleverly tied into the feel of the dream you find yourself in. We spent most of the game working separately to try and tackle the volume of puzzles we were faced with – but we did come together a few times for some particularly tricky bits! We tried to separate according to our strengths (but in hindsight it was probably whoever got to the puzzle first! ).
