What a delightful room - my favourite of the three at Enigma Hull. Very authentic build even down to appropriate smells! A lot of nods to the film which as a lady of a certain age I appreciated.
Clever puzzles and one particular audio clue had us laughing our heads off.
A lovely room well worth doing.
A journey from bedroom to chocolate factory. Visually beautiful, a great variety of puzzles and family friendly.
We went with our 6 year old who loved it and was a real help throughout.
Another classic from Enigma, we will be back soon to do Impact
By far, the best escape room we've done. The set design is beautiful, and the puzzles are a real mix of locks and puzzles which makes the game my absolute favourite to date. We started to panic thinking we might get locked in this room because of the number of puzzles, but we managed to make it out in time! The host was brilliant, Enigma have really excelled themselves with this game!
Amazing Props. My favourite room so. Great host
Played with 2 adults and a 3 year old and a 6 year old
Played with two newbies including my 6-year-old son. We got stuck on a maths puzzle early on (not my forte at the best of times) and didn’t manage to escape, plus we missed out on some of the room’s coolest moments sad face 🙁
The flow of puzzles was a bit lacking at times and the clues were not always very helpful, sometimes repeating information we already had. The room decorations were well done though and there was a good variety of puzzles, including an innovative way of using a directional padlock.
Great theme
The room was themed brilliant. A good mix of puzzles to be solved and a nice little surprise at the end. Our host Ben made it a really good experience
Didn't have the best experience here due mainly to the GM, who overclued us loads throughout the game basically as soon as we found a puzzle to the point we weren't really solving much ourselves. The set was excellent however, particularly in the 2nd half. Hopefully our experience was an anomaly and we still enjoyed playing
So good! Loved this room. Tiny but lovely touch right at the end as you escape. Fantastic hosting from Dan.
My favourite game currently from Enigma. A great room for families
This room was stunning and original - with lots of interesting puzzles.
Fantastic hosting again from Dan.
So so clever and beautifully done. Loved it!
Chocs ‘n’ Locks!
I might’ve completed 81 escapes, but never one in a chocolate factory! I went with my dad and brother, and we got 10% off with ENIGMAPERK.
Story
Take the chance to step inside the chocolate factory, but make sure you can escape (?)
Puzzles
An engaging variety of puzzles that involve some artful thinking and clever pay-offs. The placement/accessibility of a couple of components in the game mislead and threw us off the scent (which, in this room, was genuinely like sweets- amazing), but our friendly Games Host was on hand to provide hints when needed.
Mise-en-scene
In the thoughtfully laid out spaces, there are plenty of nods to the films, some more subtle than others. The final ‘zone’ is particularly impressive.
Final Comments
Altogether a top-notch room- in fact, my dad and brother said it’s one of their favourites. We escaped with just under 5 minutes to spare.
Unbelievable. This room is by far my favourite room in the Enigma chain. The beginning was not what I was expecting, but made sense with the storyline, but as you play through this room, it just gets better and better. The set is amazing too, so much so, that my friend had to keep telling me off for looking at it and not focusing on the puzzles.
Really worth playing this. So much fun, it has everything you want from the story, and so much more. Very immersive, and a great sense of adventure.
A superb game that was so enjoyable from beginning to end. The set provides wow moment after wow moment and the puzzles are a lot of fun. We just loved this one.
This is a visually beautiful room, really immersive.
You feel like you are actually part of the original film.
Good use of space with a nice variety of puzzles.
The kids will LOVE this room.
Love this room. It has been done out fantastic, the puzzles are great and it is really fun!
Great game! The set was beautiful and was super fun. Can’t recommend enough.

Only having time to play two games of the three at Enigma Rooms Hull, the second one we chose was their Chocolate Factory game. On telling us about the chocolate factory's owner, Mr Enigma, our host pointed out that there was no copyright infringement going on; and there wasn't. But the influence of a certain famous movie is clear throughout this loving homage. Your team isn't plunged into the factory, but instead reach it after a build-up that mirrors the plot of the film.
