The Wexell Corporation has a problem right now. There’s a mole in the company, working against us with some very sensitive information and we need YOU to find out who’s been sneaking around where they shouldn’t.
Go solo or gather your closest confidants to take down THE INSIDERS before they go world-wide.
The Insiders is a unique, play-at-home escape room spanning across multiple days, and 3 ‘episodes’ of approximately 90 minutes each. Story-heavy, immersive, with oodles of challenging content, designed by us to keep you playing for hours at a time!
Whilst the physical escape rooms are closed at the moment, you can virtually escape the lockdown by buying it from the gift voucher section of our bookings page. Your adventure begins with a cryptic message within your confirmation email, as soon as you purchase, and whilst we do usually allow 3 days in between each episode to allow for a break, if you want to ‘binge’ it just like your favourite show, we’re not gonna judge you. Just let us know when you start your adventure that you’d like to play all episodes straight through!

This is a fabulous play at home game. Everyone who likes Puzzles should play this. It is quite immersive for a story you print and play at home. Highly recommend . We played with three and it took us about 5 hours I think.

3 part digital ER game with mixture of online, paper and computer game elements. One puzzle which has been by far my favourite experience of online gaming in lockdown (along the lines of Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes) which evoked the opposite emotion of frustration in my other half. Some parts felt a little drawn out/repetitive but overall, cannot deny the fantastic value you get for £10 with this game. Didn't time ourselves across the 3 parts -  around the 3 hour mark though.

Reasonably well designed and extensive, but the puzzles are fairly classic and get rather grindy. Bonus points for a cute ending that pulls together a lot of the craftwork.

Best escape room we've done since the lockdown for sure. Kudos to the creators of the game for coming up with such cool puzzles and mechanics!

One of the best online puzzle games I've every played, some parts are really clever, some parts bloody difficult but overall such a great sense of achievement when you finish. Highly recommend everyone to give it a try, a must-play for less than a tenner and will take you a good 3-4 hours if not more.

Having played numerous escape across the country, as well as several online games and boxed escape games, we found this one to be up amongst one of the best. Not only is it brilliant value for money (with three separate parts to be played at your convenience and several hours of fun to be had), it also incorporates a wide range of different types of puzzles, making it fun for everyone. There were traditional paper based activities and riddles, web based tasks and a great use of technology.

Customer service was 5 star!

Fantastic - would highly recommend and we very much look forward to visiting some of their escape rooms in the future!

This is an absolute must for escape room fans.   The tasks are complex but fun and you have a real sense of achievement after each session completes.

Well worth the money - I actually think that, compared to others, it is too cheap!

Everyone should play this game.

Excellent value for money with effectively 3 games in 1!  I really liked the concept behind this and thought it was done very well.  However, this doesn't get a better star rating because it was let down a bit by some of the puzzle content.  The first chapter was so easy with such basic puzzles that we nearly didn't bother with 2 & 3.  I'm glad we did because things improved a bit from there with some really nice computer-based puzzles. Most of the printed puzzles were rather unoriginal but fine, however wer found the GoogleMaps section very tedious.

Hours of excellent puzzling spread over three parts which you can do whenever it’s convenient. Lots of head scratching, lots of different types of problems, and suitable satisfaction on completion.

Excellent online escape room, first online one I have done. Great value for money. Hours of entertainment in 3 parts. We did it with family over zoom and had a great time. With ages ranging from 11 to 40-something there were activities for everyone, and it was very immersive.

Deadlocked have done it again! Another excellent game.

I've played all their physical rooms in Reading so was super excited to hear an at home version was coming. This really scratches the escape room itch.

There's a variety of puzzles, excellent use of technology and the story line is very immersive.

I've played several at home games now and this one is definitely at the top.  Well done!

I love the story line and the way everything links with their actual rooms as well.

**Edited now that I've completed all the chapters**

This game just gets better with each chapter that comes out. James and Charlie are incredible and are definitely the nicest people in the business!

Just stop what you're doing and head over to the website to buy it! At a time like this, it's even more important than ever that we try and support the industry.

Great fun, probably the best translation of an escape room to the virtual format I've encountered. Very nicely done top to bottom

I played based on all the hype, but found it massively underwhelming. None of the puzzles are hard, they just make you do the same puzzle over and over again to the point of boredom.

I know not liking this game is a bit like screaming into the void, but it's worth noting that if repetitive puzzles are not your thing, then it's something to avoid.

One of the first really strong digital-only games of the COVID era.   I docked a star for a somewhat tedious Google Maps puzzle, but most of the game holds up - a classic.

Anonymous rated this:Rated between 20 and 20 out of 5

The creator has clearly put a lot of effort into making some of the digital experiences, but the story and puzzles were very disappointing to me. Not for a moment did I really get into the story (boring IT stuff), I didn't really know what my end goal was and the puzzles were only thinly linked to the theme. Some puzzles were simply frustrating tasks that felt like chores and we seldomly had that wow feeling when solving a puzzle. There are plenty of online escape games available with much better story and puzzles.

Wow, that is a lot of content quite elaborately staged.   This is more like a mini-puzzlehunt than an escape room experience.  Make sure your printer is working - that helps a lot. I think this works pretty well in groups, given how many puzzles there are to solve.  It would probably be a little overwhelming solo, unless you did it in over three days (as they suggest).  The puzzle level is MUCH harder than standard escape room fare.

We played this game with friends over zoom. There's clearly a lot of effort and organising gone into the game, which we had to play over two nights as there is so much to it!

Really entertaining and well worth the money at only £9.99!

A great range of puzzles (liked how each section utilised both printed and online tasks), excellent value for money. Loved the touches of humour throughout. Used the hint system a couple of times and this was great - just the right amount of advice to point you in the right direction, without giving away too much.

We played across a couple of evenings so would sometimes struggle to remember who was who in the story and what exactly was going on (to be honest, this happens to me a lot in live 1 hour escape rooms too!), but this didn't hinder our progress.

Can't wait to play The Cyphstress!

We've now completed both the online game offerings from Deadlocked and have really enjoyed both. Very well thought out, challenging but fun! Would definitely recommend them and perhaps we'll try and visit when we allowed to again!

Wow, there is a lot of content here.  The puzzles definitely lean towards the meatier "puzzle hunt" style.  Based on the other positive reviews here I'm guessing the hint system must be pretty good because I can't imagine non-puzzle-hunters doing this without aid.  The variety of challenges is amazing -- one section was a bunch of paper puzzles, one section was an interactive timed game; one section was a lot of Internet sleuthing, and so on.

Reviews by escape room review sites

Half the world is sheltering indoors from a pandemic sweeping the globe - not the plot of an escape game but the sad reality we find ourselves in. With physical escape rooms off limits, many companies are creating games which can be played over the internet in some form. The Insiders is one of the first such games, though frankly the quantity of content looks like it was created over a considerably longer period. A disclaimer: the game's creators are good friends of mine, though naturally this r...

If you haven’t already been convinced to try The Insiders, I don’t know what else I can say. It is without a doubt the best play at home game we have taken on to date. The Insiders is surprisingly immersive, incredibly clever, and just downright fun

"Insiders" was by far one of our favorite digital escape game that we've played so far (we've done about 50 now). This game incorporated pretty much everything we've seen in terms of types of puzzles.

Smiles all round and a fantastic sense of completion at the end! After The Insiders, play at home escape rooms will never be the same again. It’ll be a tall order for any escape room company to live up to the brilliance of this one.
We have to uncover the mole at Wexell Corporation with the aid of printed materials and online sleuthing in our longest experience to date!
Remarkably prescient game name, really. I don’t know if, when they began work on their new ‘virtual’ Escape Room, Deadlocked had foreseen a fairly captive audience. But, with the release rushed forward to keep their business afloat during the current difficult times, they have found a diamond for the zeitgeist.
What. A. Game. Enjoyable and frustrating in equal measure. This is the Moriarty to everyone’s escape room Sherlock. It will get the better of you but ultimately you’ll come out triumphant. It’s a real roller coaster of a game but one you really need to ride. If there Reading rooms are anything like this, we will be queuing by the door the first day they open when this lock down shenanigans ends

The first two-thirds of this game were a lot of fun and did a great job of making me feel like a clever hacker, trying to penetrate a corporate website, while coordinating with my person on the inside. However, the third part of the game felt like hitting a brick wall.

Overall, The Insiders is something unique and complex. Creating a new sub section of play at home escape room games, it contained everything you would need to recreate a real life escape room virtually. This is extremely hard to achieve with not being in a themed room as such however, if you take the heavily detailed storyline, the complex, clever puzzles and the use of technology combined, it creates what we have just experienced.

I've been meaning to play The Insiders for months, I knew from the reviews that it was going to be an excellent game and it didn't disappoint!
