hi-techstory-drivenbroken techquite difficult
I would have scored this much higher if it weren’t for the broken tech which really took away the sense of accomplishment and thus the enjoyment. We really enjoyed working out who the traitor was. There were some great bits we’d not come across before. We were getting right into the second half of the game but then all of a sudden the tech then took us onto the final ‘puzzle’ which was the end of the room. We hadn’t finished solving two previous puzzles. We walked out of the room thinking we’d failed and not really sure what had happened. We were told it was the first time this has happened and that we would have only taken a few minutes longer but it really took away from the experience. We still enjoyed but I think we would have loved
As a team of 8 this room was too small and constricting, if the review was based on the experience as an 8, I would give 2 stars. Rating the room alone, it is challenging with some clever puzzles and the enigma machine is a good touch! I did disagree with some of the logic and we required help to overcome this.
Uncover the traitor is the goal of this room and you need to eliminate all the suspects. One of the harder rooms at Panic Room, the theming is perfunctory (an office) and it contains a large number of logic style puzzles with a couple of cool style reveals. I would take at least 3-4 as you may spend a long time on some of the puzzles before coming to a conclusion. to my mind this is one of the weaker options at the venue, there are much better rooms than this one.
A fun game pitched at a good level of difficulty with plenty of puzzles but ultimately a temperamental puzzle, a set that was a bit drab and the unnecessary information overload at the beginning left me feeling that the game could have been so much better.
Enigma is a detective game, set in the Bletchley codebreaking centre where you have to identify a traitor from five possible suspects. I was expecting a World War Two setting, but it uses more modern technology so is present day or recent past. The game was in fact originally located in Bletchley and run by a different company, but fortunately found a second home with The Panic Room after the original version shut down. I believe it's been adapted somewhat, but the different genesis shows throug...
There were a variety of puzzles, but lots and lots of information to absorb – if you don’t like reading this is not the room for you! Eliminating suspects to find the traitor was the aim of game and an additional time element keeps you on your toes.
