Your eyes begin to focus through the dull light. The croak and groan of the Russian cargo ship, The Demeter, makes you feel uneasy. You sense that a terrible event has occurred - the crew are missing, presumed dead. Only the body of the Captain is later recovered, found horrifically bound to the helm of the vessel.
You have been called upon by Professor Abraham Van Helsing, the noted Dutch Metaphysician and his former student, Dr. John Seward whom's patient, the aristocrat - Lucy Westenra, is presenting a series of bizarre symptoms. She seems to be drawn under the power of an unknown force which yolks her strength, day by day. What is causing her decline and could it be in some way connected to the eery appearance of the deserted ship upon Whitby's shore? Only you can find the truth!

This room has excellent theming. The silent avatar, background music, and voice over for every text that was found really adds to the atmosphere. I like how the game ramps up the tension as we progress through the rooms. One of my favorite remote game.
Excellent to do as a team
Fantastic atmosphere, creative puzzles, and a great guide through the virtual escape room process!
Great game, Highly recommend. Thematic and interesting puzzles.
Really enjoyable game, interesting puzzles, flowed really well and very atmospheric despite playing online. The host did a great job too, one of the best escape rooms I have done. Would highly recommend.
Great atmosphere, absolutely brilliant puzzles and just overall a fun and immersive experience. An absolute MUST for all Dracula fans π
Would definitely play again!
It's almost like playing the room in person, they really manage to create an immersive atmosphere. A lot of varied and very well designed riddles, definitely recommended! We had a great time!
Excellent. All age groups enjoyed the game.
I played this remotely from the US. I've done ~70 rooms virtually and this one ranks at the very top! Fantastic set design, fun puzzles, and the GM/avatar ran the room exactly how we wanted them to. This truly is a can't miss experience for any escape room fan!
the room, atmosphere, and puzzles, were very good, hints were given at right time.
A very atmospheric room in the caves under Nottingham. Good puzzles with a strong integration with the theme, and an excellent denouement. What detracted from our enjoyment of the game was that the Avatar was constantly moving the camera around, which several of us found rather nauseating. We did tell the host, so I hope they will work on being less swoopy! This was also one of relatively few games we've done that chose to have a silent avatar. I would have preferred her to talk to us, and in particular not to communicate with vigorous head shaking, which added to the nauseatingness.
The avatar was very skilled at communicating through just their hands, extremely well done! The game matched well with its difficulty rating; we had a mixed group of beginners, intermediates and ones who had played a lot and everyone enjoyed it. Very versatile, lots of different puzzles, and the right amount of challenging. Really loved the way the theme was realized.
Fantastic escape room. We played it virtually and had a blast. The room contains some fairly easy puzzles (if you've done escape rooms before), the storyline is solid, and the atmosphere is great. They have unique props for the room which were thoroughly satisfying to find/solve, and the location of the room was unique and lent an air of gravity to the experience. Without giving to much away it was impressive how different the "locations" are from each other. Overall it was really good. Our team sort of wish we had played this one in person but the virtual experience is still worthy of attention. Highly recommend playing Carfax!
Super fun room!
Great game and with an amazing avatar. Love the story and theme!
Good room, I enjoyed the way the avatar didn't speak which was different. Beautiful setting, well thought-out theme, and a room that would be great to visit in person
Carfax "The Hunter" was a lot of fun - fairly simple puzzles but the presentation, with live avatar and GM, was really well executed. Telescape was used to great effect, and the GM fed us videos and sound effects as the game progressed. They've gone a really good job in converting their game to online play.
For a family game with a mixed group of players, this is highly recommended. Creepy but not scary and no jump scares (important to our group). Very smooth GMing with a lot of fun communicating with a silent host, who managed to communicate back just using hands. Great narrative, puzzles all on theme. Some physical puzzles which translated very well to the online format. Most effective use of telescape we've seen. Definitely all able to do our own thing solving puzzles whilst others were exploring. Didn't feel "held up" at any point. Nice rest moments with the story videos as the plot thickened. Both the GM and avatar were superb, and the use of two staff members meant they picked up on everything. We will definitely be playing the munitions men one when it comes out. Would not have believed they'd only been open a week if they hadn't told us.

Very enjoyable escape game. well translated from live to virtual. Challenging but solvable puzzles. Telescape (virtual dashboard) used very well to offer videos, puzzles, 360 degree viwews and focused views of objects. We were able to work out puzzles online with drag and drop and none of those pages and pages of paper you sometimes have with virtual rooms. The setting was excellently gothic, the puzzles stayed in narrative and I bet the game is fun to play live as well!
Well recommended for a family fun night, all ages.
Fantastic game with great narrative. Special attention to story and theme - it really takes you through the story of Dracula. Highly recommended!
I played Carfax when it first opened (in real life) and loved the atmosphere and the theming, so when it appeared online as an avatar room I was first in the queue to play. and boy oh boy it did NOT disappoint! Its a Dracula themed adventure with beautiful scenes and a real sense of adventure throughout.
The attention to detal on the remote gameplay really shines through on this game, from the scene setting introduction of both the Hunter avatar and of the narrative, to the choice of music and sound effects to set each scene and emphasise clue items. Put this onto an already excellent game, add in a superbly characterised avatar who is very quick and responsive to instructions, and top it off with great camera work and you have yourself a stunning game.
The final highlight to the room is that any text is read out to you, in a voice over, this makes the room much more accessible and also gives you that movie voiceover feel, it really elevates the adventure as you don't have to squint at a document or take time out of the action to read it in the telescape. Speaking of telescape, its there and it is used well, but I only used it once or twice in the whole game, it was a useful reference, but never dragged me away from the action.
It really is a fabulous remote room, I'm already wishing and hoping that Monuments also gets the same treatment and appears online soon.
Great game with a great avatar! Turn on sound to feel the whole atmosphere!

Carfax is a Dracula themed adventure which takes inspiration from the 1992 Francis Ford Coppola film.
You have been sent by Professor Van Helsing to unearth the reason for Lady Westenraβs bizarre symptoms and release her from whatever evil has her in its grasp.
