As with the other game at this branch, it felt in need of TLC with tired interiors and slowly fading props. I appreciate the game is closing so didn't dwell on this too much. I loved the start to this room - very original and the use of masks fit so brilliantly in the theme. All of the puzzles were very solid and beautifully Deadlocked. I also enjoyed the video links throughout and the simple yet effective use of lock boxes (it is a bank after all)!

The originality of the opening for this room sadly doesn't flow for the duration of the game. Once past the initial challenges, the room is quite sparse and doesn't live up to the theme. The puzzles however are the highlight of Deadlocked's rooms and this has a good range of them.
It's a couple of months since I played this game, this was my 50th so I was hoping it would be something special and it was, just not in the way I'd hoped. I've read subsequent reviews to this and it appears the problems they had have been improved if not completely resolved. We had multiple tech fails and the GM had to enter the room several times. We probably played this room too early in its life but I would argue it was barely able to be playtested let alone normal play. Disappointing after how much I enjoyed their Northampton branch.
Vault Squad had one of the most unique openings to a standard βheistβ theme that Iβve seen, and the amuusement it provided (particualrly when we tripped up) set the tone for the entire game. If youβre in Loughborough, skipping Deadlocked Escape Rooms would be a mistake.
Overall, The Vault Squad is a decent game which we enjoyed very much so. We did manage to work faster than most on this occasion and escape in 35 minutes! Whilst fast, we were a large team with us having knowledge of Deadlocked games too. We would recommend this room for more first timer players or less experienced players as it will give you a challenge however, if you are a fan of a quality experience then we would still recommend playing and trying to smash our time!
A Jekyll and Hyde of a game. A great entrance, some cool props and a bonus mechanic that will push most teams all the way were some of the highlights, but some amateur puzzle implementation and lots of tedious padlock entry took the shine off for me.
