Who knew you could do so much with a card game and an app... and in this case a very simple map. We loved how the map was used to explore and give the impression of many possible routes to the goal.
While we did like part 2 of this trilogy more, we were also fans of this one. It is of course not the same as being in an escape room or even a 360 degrees online escape room, but it was a fun experience and we have put more Unlock! games on our wish list.
A really nice game from Unlock! Star wars theme was nicely done.
This was our favorite of the three Star Wars Unlock! games. The app use really locked it in for us, but also the cute visuals on the cards.

Having been rebels and independent smugglers in the first two games, this third one puts you on the side of the bad guys, as an undercover Imperial agent tracking down a crate of valuable minerals. This includes the unusual feature of needing to periodically report back to your headquarters. In practice this simply means sometimes being prompted to enter something into the app and be instructed to take a card or two; but it provides an extra feeling of story progression.

In the second of Unlock’s Star Wars games you are a smuggler attempting to escape from imprisonment on an Imperial cruiser. Like the first, this is definitely a game designed for beginners.
Also like the first, it successfully conveys an action movie feel, being both fast paced and true to the source movies. This one aims to be a character ensemble, with you building up a team of allies who each have different skills to be used.

The first thing to say about Escape From Hoth is that it’s not intended for enthusiasts. All three of the games in Unlock’s Star Wars box are easier than their usual standard, and this is the simplest of the lot. Presumably since they were anticipating more of a mass market for third box the difficulty level is toned down, the usual Unlock format but with training wheels.
This includes a complete walkthrough packaged with the box. That’s actually a really helpful addition and I’m glad to see th...
Unlike the other two stories, Secret Mission on Jedha lets you play as the bad guys (“finally!” says Player 2) and I have to say despite not being a Star Wars fan I’m learning a lot about the films through playing this, such as the names of planets, what symbols the good and bad guys use, and schematics of spaceships.
An Unforseen Delay is the second boxed game in the Star Wars Unlock! series, after Escape from Hoth and part two in my effort to find a play at home escape game my Player 2 loves as much as I do. This time round we’re playing ‘grey area’ smugglers, arrested and locked away by the bad guys (the Imperials – see, I’m learning). In all sense of the word, it’s a true escape room. You must escape!
Unlock! Star Wars - The Escape Game is especially suitable for beginners and fans of the Star Wars universe because of the moderate difficulty level and the advantage cards.
