Step onto a pirate galleon in the middle of a battle for control of the High Seas. Your captain, the terrifying Blackbeard, has just been killed and his ship is shot to pieces and sinking fast.
With no chance of victory, you and your scurvy shipmates decide to jump ship – after helping yourself to the contents of Blackbeard’s legendary treasure chest.

Would be so much better if everything worked. Beautiful theming and some fun puzzels
I was a bit disappointed and deflated by this game, either we were completely rubbish (possible!) or the puzzles were a bit illogical, or it might be because I’ve had fantastic experiences at Escape Hunt before and this didn’t live up to it. Usually getting a clue makes me feel stupid and have a ‘how did we miss that?!’ or ‘makes sense!’ moment but with this I just felt like it was one of many solutions. The room definitely needs a refresh due to wear and tear. I would have loved the games master to have helped more with when we needed a clue - it felt like having 11 minutes to spare meant we could’ve been left to figure out a little more.
I've rated this as a three as I found that it didn't quite flow as well as some other games we've done, it felt a little disjointed especially in the first part.
There were a variety of puzzles which is always fun although I HATED the parrot by the end:)
The theming was fantastic as usual and the host was helpful. We found ourselves having to ask for more clues than we usually do as things weren't always intuitive. A fun game though, especially if you have someone with a good ear:)

The game themes that Escape Hunt have been rolling out sound a little like costume ideas for a children's party: cowboys, vikings, Doctor Who, pirates. Since this is an industry that deals in escapism, that's all to the good, and we eagerly signed up for their Blackbeard game.

Our least favourite game that we have played at Escape Hunt. The puzzles could have been really good but their execution was somewhat lacking. An enjoyable game overall however
