story-drivenintense😨creepy

Quite a lot to do in this room, which had a cooler set than I was anticipating in light of the story.  Some use of video clips to help deal with elements that could not be replicated online, which was quite clever.  A very nice host who did a good job of gently moving us along in the right direction, and avoiding wasting time.  Some neat elements that we hadn't seen before.  All in all a good experience!

Betrayal in Breslau was a change of pace, a somewhat older game with an ambitious split-team structure that means your experience of the game will be quite different depending on your starting point. It also rather relies on the two halves of the team progressing at a similar pace - if the timing doesn't work out right, it's possible to end up bottlenecked for a while. I suspect the game was inspired by its physical location, which is effectively atmospheric; and there are some neat physical puzzles involved in the process for reuniting the team. (This game was run in avatar format, but the structure was changed and simplified for that version.)

I'm a big fan of Exit19.pl's set design so it's a bummer that I have to play these games over the internet rather than IRL. The items used in the game felt authentic to the 1930s era and everything in the room has a mysterious creepiness to it. The prerecorded videos also helped with building up the suspense. It felt like we're on a movie set. Despite some minor puzzles that didn't translate as well through the online format, this is a really fun room to play. Are you intrigued enough to find out what Mr. Wolf has been hiding in his apartment yet?
