Very underwhelming room, puzzles were very basic, fine for beginners but not for anyone with experience, host felt like she didn't want to be there at all. Escaped in 34 minutes as a group of 2.. which left us feeling highly disappointed there wasn't more
Very good game. The mix of lighting and music makes you feel on edge and that is exactly what I would like to feel in a scary game
I enjoyed this room, although it could have been a little better.
Loved that there was smell involved with this room too. Very well done in terms of aesthetic. Great and relatively straightforward puzzles. There's about 2-3 that if you go down the wrong track in your mind you're going to waste a ton of time on. We got a song stuck in our head and missed out on the record as a result!
Great room.
As I'm a fan of creepy rooms this fitted the bill nicely! Suitably atmospheric with a good range of puzzles. All of the puzzles were appropriate to the theme of the room - random unlinked puzzles are a particular bugbear of mine!! Hosting was excellent which seems to be the norm in our experience of Enigma rooms (this is our third site visited).
We like a good hunting and gathering room, in true enthusiasts style, we missed things along the way.
We played this room in it's old form and then the upgraded/renovated version. Some really good improvements and additions have been made.
Flows well although the story gets a bit lost at times.
This was our first room at Enigma Doncaster and well worth a visit. Quite a bit of searching around and collating of information but good theming and an enjoyable game
This was my first ever escape room, as many people say, I didn't know what to expect. At the time of playing this game, the host, Nick (whom was very witty and funny) gave us our brief, then told us to slap some blindfolds on and guided us to our room (I believe this no longer happens) he places us in the four corners of the room, and slammed the door shut, after spending a minute or so deciding if we should start the game, we took our blind folds off and had fun searching around the room.
Although some puzzle were tricky, this was a great game to start with, as it has so many different types of puzzles in there. Some easy, some difficult, but all logical, and had the typical 'ah' moment when we finally figured it out.
We had the option of asking for clues, although help was provided through tv screen when we were really stuck, we were never told how to do a puzzle, just hinting towards what we needed to do or where we needed to look, which I prefer. I hate it when a host just tells you the answer.
All in all, a great game. I know some people have hinted they don't want to play this game as the poster looks scary, but I'd say it was creepy rather than scary, but no flashing lights, no jump scares, no live actors or anything, just a great themed room with some challenging puzzles. Since we played the first time, Nick contacted us to tell us the room had been updated, and we have been back to play, and only one puzzle remained the same. So if you played it when Enigma Doncaster first opened, its worth going back to see the differences.
