EO Escape Rooms: Castaway

This was the first of EO’s rooms we played and it was brilliant. The concept and how it’s implemented is really clever - no spoilers but I’ve still never seen another room quite like it, and there’s a lot of seamless tech that fits the theme too. I played with someone who’d never done a room before and took the lead, but we still got out with a little time to spare. As with all Kelly’s rooms, inexperienced players might benefit from having a team of three or more, but the puzzles all flow and make logical sense. Recommended.

A really FUN room! Lots of great props, and a really original use of the space (IYKYK). Plenty of puzzles to keep us busy, the game flowed beautifully, and the enthusiasm of the owners is infectious. 

Fun, physicality and a lovely bunch of quirky puzzles await you on this castaway island and the EO team evidently enjoy thinking of inventive ways to create new experiences within their escape rooms. The flow of puzzles was top-notch and there were plenty of original elements that kept us on our toes. Our GM, Lily, was a delight and ran the game with just the right balance of being available for clues but not nudging when not needed. A great room in a venue that's full of great rooms.

Took a drive out to Sudbury to try 3 of these highly rated rooms and this one certainly did not disappoint. The 3 ladies hosting were all lovely and clearly loved their work. The theming of this room is spectacular and the puzzles were varied and fun. Really enjoyed this one.

This was our first EO room, and the whole no shoes thing was intriguing but made total sense when we got in there. Some unique and interesting puzzles, but of all the EO rooms we have done, this is the one that we felt the most disconnected from, some of the puzzles were simpler than we realised and we over thought and wasted a bit of time. We had a great time but there was some frustration which was entirely our own fault - learned a lesson not to over think stuff. 

The Castaway escape room at EO Escape was like being on a cool desert island adventure. The room looked awesome with some incredible props making it feel real. The puzzles were tricky but fun. Our game guide, Kelly, helped us at just the right times, making the game super exciting. When we finally escaped, it felt like a big win. If you want a fun escape room that is really immersive definitely check out Castaway!

A brilliant escape room, played two today for my birthday. On the leader board for this one! Woohoo! You know when you come to EO you're going to have a great time and experience. The puzzles are well thought you, you can tell planning and testing has been thorough. A great room! 

Another great looking room from EO and yet again I was enamored by the story telling and puzzled here. All of the games at EO have different puzzles to ones I've seen elsewhere, but castaway definitely had the most unique puzzles I'd seen. Definitely a think outside of the box room here (or think outside the boat....)

Great for people new to escape rooms! Enough to keep a large group busy

A fantastic game. This was the first room we played at EO escape rooms and it really set the bar high! Lots of puzzles to engage with and a good variety. There was a puzzle for everyone in this room. I absolutely loved the theme, I have never been to a room like this before and haven’t seen one since. 

If you ever visit, this room is a must!

Another Amazing room by EO

Very immersive game, loved all the attention to detail! Lots of clever well thought out puzzles. Gutted to have played all EO games now and need them to create more as they’re the best ones I’ve played! 

I played with my mums friends and it was their first ever game. We all loved it! It works for all ages  so enjoyable everyone came out smiling. 

Really fun game with lots to get through. Would recommend for any group size. Very creative puzzles

Wow, this room is so beautifully designed with such a fun surprise. A fun filled, action packed way to spend an hour. 

The puzzles all just make sense, making game play flow really well.

Well I can openly say when you think you’ve seen some things in the escape room world you’ve never seen anything quite like castaway at EO! No spoilers but when you enter the room you will be guaranteed to say ‘oh my god’ 

The design is something quite spectacular from Kelly and Rich and the game 100% backs up the amount of effort that has clearly gone into building this game! It plays exactly as you’d hope and expect and has some great puzzles as well as some moments of pure frantic ness which is always fun! Make sure you add this to your must play games list as it’s one you really don’t want to miss! 

We came and played castaway as our first ever escape room, Kelly the host was brilliant at explaining what to do. The room was very unique and had a perfect blend of different puzzles for people to enjoy. 

Loved this room. Very original and things we’ve not seen before. An excellent room with excellent hosting. Definitely try this room if you are in the area 

As always, a fantastic room by EO. Original puzzles, designed and built by the company. I enjoyed this one from start to finish. What stood out for me was the pace of the room, which flowed really well with each puzzle being completely logical. Kelly was as always the perfect host.

We also got to try the Box, which I’d definitely recommend as it gives a completely new experience. Being alone with the added pressure of playing against your team mates, rather than with them, makes you appreciate them even more! 

I so loved this room, it made me grin with delight for the whole game. Great theming and SO much fun. It makes me smile every time I think of playing it.

Our trip kicked off with this excellent room! Our host Kelly was incredible throughout the day and it was a genuine pleasure to spend the day with her and Kody. 

Castaway is a genuinely fun room and flowed effortlessly. The puzzles were playful and just made perfect sense! 

Probably the oddest way to begin an escape room but all makes sense as soon as the door is opened. Fantastic set and everything fits the theme perfectly. A solid mixture of physical and mental puzzles with a decent sense of exploration throughout. Highly recommend!

This was our first game at the venue and was quite the introduction!  The setup will get you in the mood from the off and I'm relatively confident elements will have you laughing throughout.  Theming is both clever and on point and puzzles are a wide variety between logical and physical.  Hints are given on a screen as is the countdown.  Highly recommended!

"Okaaaay" is your first reaction after Kelly's briefing but I'll leave that to you to find out why. 

But it all becomes clear once you enter the room and start playing.... yet another great game from EO. 

Everything was logical, and, despite myself being stubborn and completing a task designed for 2 people by myself, we all enjoyed our time on the island.

I think other reviews cover the key positives of this room - but I must emphasise that this is without doubt the *Most Fun* room we've ever done! I can't say why; book it and find out - you won't regret it! It's a superb room, and our GM Kodi did a lovely job of keeping an eye on our escapades.

Yes we are giving another 5* to EO, the theme and execution of this room was brilliant and we've not seen anything quite like it. This was just simply a lot of fun. 

We had so much fun at castaway. Good theming, fun puzzles and a quite a few things I hadn’t seen anywhere before.

This is a great game - can safely say I have not played another game quite like this. Full of puzzles to keep enthusiasts busy. We had a tech fault in this game (team before us had been a little overenthusiastic with one puzzle) but owner/GM was able to address this. Original and really just good fun to play - as escape rooms should be, and would definitely recommend this venue if you are in the area.
