If you're a fan of the movie, you will love this.  The attention to detail is fantastic.

Really strong escape room. Fun puzzles, great avatar. We had only watched the short cheat sheet of the film, and it wasn't a problem. Incredible detail, lots to do, and lots of variety with the puzzles.

Played this as an online avatar game and smiled the whole way through.

Love the setting, the character and the puzzles.

This room is one i would love to visit but only got the chance through online and my only negative is that i believe it would be even better in person!

A bit of a step above other online games I've played.  Players are provided with materials before the game starts to get them in the mood, and can choose to dress up as certain characters in the narrative.  There is also a custom Zoom background provided.  The game itself is very immersive--excellent set, with a lot of fairly high tech elements.  The inventory system works very well (better on a second screen) but we appreciated that the GM still too the time to show us all the elements in game.  Overall an excellent experience!

Amusing high-energy GM, nice set decor, a cute interaction, and a lot of shout outs to the movie. The role assignment doesn't work as well virtually; it's probably best played as 2-4.

They did a great job with the license, and the avatar character is very amusing and engaging throughout.  If you're in the area, it might be worth holding off so you can experience the room in person -- but you'll actually be missing some fun interactions, such as telling the avatar to do certain scary things...

Even if you have never seen Evil Dead 2, or even if you have and are not a fan, this experience is truly exceptional. No, really; there’s a reason this is regarded as one of the best remote games out there right now, even with the relatively hefty price tag.

I would have loved to play this room in person as the set design looked amazing. You do not need to have seen the movie in order to play this escape room but out of curiosity we watched the movie after and the decor was spot on. The attention to detail on the props could be seen even on camera. There were lot of "ooooo" and "ahhh" moments from each of our teammates as the secrets of the rooms unveiled.

It’s a real stand out in the escape room world! With October just around the corner, I expect this one to book out quickly – so if you’re planning on a spooky night in with friends from afar, definitely include Ethe Evil Dead 2 room in your plans and book early to avoid disappointment!

Evil Dead II and role play I was looking forward to this room! I'd been stumbling around for a few days, telling anyone who wanted to hear it that I'd be the "psychic" of the band in a remote escape room with role-playing!Well as usual I'm going faster than the music.I didn't know Evil Dead II, a cult movie from the 80's mixing horror or comedy. Hourglass escape managed to get the license for this movie which has a lot of fans. So don't panic, you don't need to know this movie to have fun....
In 1300 AD, a ‘Hero from the Sky’ was prophesied to have destroyed the Evil. Unfortunately, he wasn’t available today, so they called in the next best thing: us. (Hey – we run a website; the internet is on the cloud… same thing, right?) Groovy.

As an escape room proper, I'd say it goes beyond "nice", with tons of well-clued puzzles, multiple rooms, and some nice audio-visual effects. As an avatar-led experience, it does lose some of its appeal - some special effects would be a lot more effective to someone being there in person - but "Shemp", our man on location, still managed to be funny & engaging, and Hourglass has licensed the "inventory" system from Rock Ave, so you know it works great. Where the room really shines, though, is as a tribute to the movie it's based on.
