Thousands of years ago there ruled the Pharaoh Horus, named after the great falcon god. He prided himself on his intelligence and wit and spent much of his time studying puzzles and mysteries. With no children to inherit his kingdom he spent years building the Pyramid of Mysteries. Built to find a worthy successor of his kingdom.
Following its completion Horus lay down the challenge that whoever could escape the pyramid, within an hour, would inherit the whole of Egypt. Many tried, but all failed, every one of them becoming entombed forever!
His kingdom has long since gone but the Pyramid of Mysteries remains. Are you brave enough to take on the Pharaoh's challenge?

The Egyptian escape room at the Escape Room Centre in Blackpool was a disappointing experience. The room and its contraptions were clearly dated, with a few illogical puzzles and, bizarrely, a clearly  used A4 sheet of paper being used for one puzzle. The overall experience was very poor, and I would not recommend this escape room to anyone.

The set design was cool and there were some decent puzzles although one of them seemed to be flawed as we were told it often breaks like it did during our escape.

Fairly straightforward game, few observational errors on our part and a puzzle we feel may require outside knowledge

Good game, which I played with 6 and 7 year old daughters and first timer wife. Not too difficult. Couple of puzzles need explaining. Quite a sarcastic host

Seemed a bit illogical, hosting and theme was good but some of the puzzles were a bit confusing and we were able to complete some without actually completing them!!!

It was a while ago I did this one, I remember it being ok but nothing special. There definitely isn't enough for 6 players to do, it should be advertised as 2-5. Some of the puzzles don't make a huge amount of sense, so it's difficult for a team to discuss them. The theme was implemented well enough to make it a bit of a giggle just being in the room.

Very good hosting by Fred, who made it a very enjoyable experience. This is not a lock and key room if you prefer that sort of escape. Not particularly challenging if you have some experience but would be great for beginners.

Very good story. The gamesmaster was a highlight really getting into character for the introduction. Very well themed room

Enjoyable room. We had good fun and the host was great in character, however there was a lot of crawling about which isn't ideal for tall/less flexible people! Still, a minor blemish on an enjoyable hour

A fantastic room with good theming, some tough puzzles, fun mechanisms and a decent finale. Expect to have to exert yourself though!
A well themed and difficult room that suffers from a lack of clues and confirmation that you’re doing things correctly.

I'm writing this review more than two years after playing the TRAP rooms, so my memory is unreliable and they may have changed anyhow - the Bomb Room for one appears to no longer exist. Also, we played all four rooms in a crazy consecutive burst of enthusiasm, which makes it harder to remember which was which.

However, it's safe to say that the TRAP rooms were good mass-market escape rooms with more of a emphasis on physical puzzles, almost with a Crystal Maze feel. Everything's robustly design...

The first room from our Cambridge double bill.
Given the ‘crawling section’ warning, it’s no giveaway that there is more than one room here. We had a slow start in the first bit – the theming is excellent and there is lots to look at without there actually being many pointers where to start
