As a mortal, to enter your afterlife, you must first die. How you die is your choice but all must enter through the void of transcendence.
Only the brave will follow the light, crawl out of the grave and go to hell and back. Logical thinking and teamwork is what you need to ensure that when your hour is up your name is found in the Book of life.
Will you escape and be granted your life back, or will you be left to wander the afterlife for eternity?

Aafterlife had been on my list to do for a while. It was worth the wait. A few puzzles which were unique and we thoroughly enjoyed the game play. If you find yourself in Sheffield it's definitely worth a visit

I thought this was a really fun theme for a room, that just fell a little flat. As a team of 5, some of us at times did feel like we weren't doing anything except watching others at some points. And we all came out of it at the end expecting more. The puzzles in the first room were great and very well done, and if it had been that level across all parts then it would've been a much better experience. So if doing it as an experienced escape room group, do it with less players. I will give credit for booking the room, I personally dislike rooms where the puzzle is that it's dark. But Cryptology has an option when booking for an "after dark" mode where the rooms lighting is off and you must navigate using torches. We played with standard lighting, but I did enjoy that it was an option rather than forced. Slightly creepy first room, but nothing actually jump scary. Spooky not scary as they describe it.

Surprised by this game and enjoyed it quite a lot. First and last room are a bit meh but the middle is pretty solid. Original idea and some fun puzzles

We loved this game. Weβve done a few similar themed games now but this one still stands out for its clever use of space, range of puzzles, and a padlock weβd not seen before. As always the hosting at cryptology is great, and the room was just really good fun with lots to replay in our heads when we left.

This is a great room. The puzzles were in the sweet spot of 'figure it out' and getting them complete involved zero frustration.
I remember the room having great flow and pacing to it, and therefore was really fun. This is one of the better escape rooms in Sheffield
A little criticism is that some of the tech was a bit janky and one or two puzzles were a bit too much "find the thing", didnt ruin the experience though
Originally built for a different venue, I believe cryptology has bought this game and reinstalled it here⦠it plays well, flow was good but the room is almost in 4 parts. Without spoiling anything. 1st part- frustrating
2nd/3rd part themed great and some great puzzles
4th part - disappointing ending with no real sense of achievement.
Don't fool yourself thinking that this is a scary game, it's called Afterlife but is not scary! Their next game is going to be apparently. From the getgo this game features many styles of puzzle which flow together wonderfully. The GM was amazing and we were worried we may not make it out. Turns out we over complicated many of the puzzles which we had a laugh with them with.

A thoroughly enjoyable adventure which combines good puzzles with a fun sense of exploration and stunning set design. While there are a few places where individual teams might get stuck, this is still a room that I would absolutely recommend if you're even vaguely nearby.
A truly spectacular game with a great storyline and non-stop adventure from the very first second. There are many different spaces to explore as you battle to save your life. We loved this game and really canβt fault it.
Afterlife is a room which was originally run by X-it games, based in Shipley, and we had been meaning to venture up thereβ¦then COVID happened of course, scuppering our plans! However, during the lockdowns Cryptology announced the exciting news that they would be opening Afterlife right here on our doorstep in Sheffield! Opportunity knocked, and of course what could we do but get ourselves booked in for as soon as we possibly could upon its opening?!
