January is always a quiet time of year, but here’s a light sprinkling of new escape rooms to keep you going through the dark winter nights:
Greater London
🔒 The latest new room at Room Lockdown in Hornchurch is Bootlegger’s Secret, a Prohibition-era booze heist.
Last call for:
❗️ Escape In Time (East London): Secret Studio, one of London’s great classic escape rooms, and its sister game Emerald Phantom, will sadly be closing on the 28 Feb. (Golden Hinde will remain open.)
South East England
🔒 Pier Pressure’s murder mystery game Clue Company returns to Preston Manor, for five days only.
🔒 Previously open at their now-closed Slough branch, Jurassic Island opens at Escape3600 Maidenhead just in time for a dino-themed Valentine.
🔒 At Andover’s Riverside Activity Zone, some of the options for their X-Cube Immersion experience seem to be at least escape room adjacent – so far I haven’t added listings for them, but if anyone’s tried their games, I’d be interested in hearing more details about what they’re like.

South West England
🔒 One that slipped under the radar: Enigma Escapes has been quietly thriving in Wells since last April, now with two rooms: Artifacts of the Cluzu Tribe and Murder at Haven House.
🔒 House of Frankenstein in Bath are swapping out one of their two box games; The Despicable Gift is replaced by The Monster’s Bride.
🔒 Locked In A Room have been gradually opening their game Wallace and Gromit: A Grand Way Out at each of their branches, and it’s now available in Exeter.
Wales

🔒 Puzzled Escape Rooms (Cardiff): Going Up
West Midlands
🔒 Alderford Escape Islands announced this year’s set of games, or the first three of them at any rate: Frozen in Time, The Final Flare, and The Wardrobe to Winter will run from the 14th.
🔒 Courtyard Escapes in Stourbridge quietly added a new experience to their booking options before Christmas: I believe Buccaneers Bounty is a tabletop style game where you need to find a way to unlock the treasure chest.
🔒 The Coventry branch of Houdini’s added one of the chain’s newest designs to their line-up, with Apocalypse: Shelter 23.
East Midlands
🔒 The newest game at enthusiast favourite Break Escape opens on the 20th: Robin Hood will be in Nottingham at the ex-Cryptology location.
🔒 Forest Mystery at Newton Burgoland swapped out one of their three outdoor experiences, replacing Murder Mystery with Robin’s Hood Heist.
East of England
🔒 The Hideout will open mid-Feb at Maldon Escape Rooms; this is a new game for the Know Escape group, and continues the story of Rob The Bank 1 & 2 (and also connects to the story of their overnight game).

North West England
🔒 Adrenaline Escape have opened a second location in Wigan, launching with Lab 3436 and Devil’s Gate, previously available in Wigan and Manchester respectively.
🔒 Rochdale is the next town to get a branch of Houdini’s; it’ll open on the 16th with Apocalypse: Shelter 23, Sneaky Finders, and an entirely new game The Liberty Express.
Yorkshire and the Humber
🔒 Hollym Escape Rooms in Withernsea get this month’s Best Pun award, for their new game The Inheritance – A Battle of Wills.
Northern Ireland
🔒 There’s an increasing buzz around Belfast’s Forbidden Quest; if you’re thinking of visiting to try their Time To Float game, note that their latest game The Collector will open on the 28th. Like their others, this will be a large-scale horror experience with multiple live actors.
