You’ve struck gold but word got out and now the vultures are circling.
Step into the Wild West, where the tiny frontier town of East Victoria is celebrating the discovery of gold.
But the celebrations turn sour when news arrives that the bloodthirsty Bill French Gang are on their way to claim the gold – and kill everyone in East Victoria for good measure!
With no sheriff around and no cavalry riding to the rescue your only hope is a rusty old locomotive that hasn’t worked in years – but with just one hour to get it going and escape with your lives, you need to think fast and work even faster.

Great hosting (in Liverpool) that helped to make the experience incredible. Seems to be a trend in these reviews that they are always adding to immersion!
I'm not an avid escape room participant, so some people may disagree, but I thought the puzzles were a good mix of difficulty, with some that we could solve near-instantly and a few that took multiple minutes - I think across the hour, we had two proper hints and one confirmation of something we suspected (we bought it up but felt it was a bit crazy - appreciated the host confirming we were on the right track, though I know everyone would handle that differently). No tech issues, albeit some clear wear and tear in certain aspects of it, and the set-up was done perfectly for us.
I can see the set was designed to e beautiful, but a lot of it was damaged when we played it. Puzzles didn't work. Props were holding together with black tape. It was very underwhelming.
Forewarning: you are not allowed to take ANYTHING into the room, and you MUST leave your phone outside the room.
Good theming, a few odd puzzles (including one that requires the game master to be watching carefully and deciding if you've "passed" or not). The shooting gallery / gun element from the trailer has been removed and replaced with elastic bands, which was a big shame.
The room is non-linear, so if you're playing in a large group then you will miss a lot of content.
One broken prop (an engine valve), which seemed like a clue but actually wasn't, which cost us a lot of time.
Pressured by staff member into leaving a good review because they apparently get paid time off work if they get good reviews, which felt awkward.
Escaped with all gold & coal collected.
Very worn out and a couple of odd puzzles. Wouldn't recommend this room.
Really enjoyed this room. Lot of fun to play and lots of laughs. If I had one criticism it's that it was maybe too easy.
Three of the 4 players were brand new to escape rooms and we mad it our and onto the leader board
A mix of puzzles, involving logic and some skill so a mixed team will fair better
First off, our cowboy games master was hilarious and in full character.
The game itself was actually fun. There were a couple of bits of wear and tear, but nothing to complain about.
The themeing is nice, though the coal and gold had seen better days.
We managed to get out with all the gold. Definitely a must for family’s with younger players as there’s lots of fun parts (including a cheeky acting challenge) which was hilarious.
Really enjoyed this game.
After our first experience with Escape Hunt we tried this room next, where fairly good with interaction and role-playing in certain areas, there were some puzzles that were hard to read. The host wasn't the greatest at the time and clues were illogical and didn't really help and guide us. Could have been better

Picking a game for the afternoon slot at Escape Hunt's Oxford branch was a choice between pirates and cowboys, and we chose the latter. Wild West casts you as lucky but imperilled miners: having discovered a rich seam of gold in a remote and dusty frontier town (incongruously but conveniently already formed into bars), you now need to make a quick exit by train before the local gangsters arrive to take it all from you.
