Mysteeri Tampere: Witch of Amuri

Strange things are happening in the Amuri neighborhood of Tampere. Soccer moms deface schools, skiers throw sand on trails, politicians sabotage the railway. Despite the different times, locations and individuals there are similarities between the cases. An unnamed cruel character, that can be known, but not found.

If one truly seeks to solve a crime in the city, the best info comes from the right people in the darkest alleyways. However, when the talk steers towards these crimes, even the most chirping snitch falls silent. After long pleading and bribing all one can find out is the presence of something bad. Something without a name.

Weeks, months and many interrogated informants pass. Name escapes no lips, but it’s clear the same dark figure is involved. Finally, one tortured soul spits out the words:

“The Witch of Amuri”

So this is the name everyone fears. The new info makes a few puzzle pieces fall into place, but most of it is still a jumble. One important question has however been revealed: Where?

Meticulous investigation of the  Amuri neighborhood leads to the corner of Näsilinnankatu and Puutarhakatu, a black apartment building wrought with crime.

You enter the building right after a police squad. From one of the apartments the law is dragging out a young woman, who’s kicking and screaming in confused rage. From her clothes you can clearly see a life lived in destitution, but her face remains oddly blank, despide the kicking and screaming. After she’s gone you’re faced with an open doorway and an ominous mood.

Now it’s your turn to enter the story. What part has this woman played in the events that have shaken the city? What’s the secret of the Witch of Amuri? Can you prevent further crime in time?
