It's not a spoiler to explain that The Dark Room begins in the dark, which forms the basis of several puzzles.

A combination of careful searching, cracking combinations, physical challenges, and memory will get you through.

The theme is creepy but not scary; the backstory about the locked room.

This is such a fun and exciting approach to create a room that mostly played in the dark. Your eyes do get used to it, so in the end you may be able to spot some shapes.

Absolutely loved the tongue-in-cheek narrative to the room. Some really smart puzzles too, so this is ideal for slightly experienced teams.
