This was the first escape room I ever played and it started my love affair with them.  By today's standards this room is very ordinary with many of it's puzzles seeming a tad clichΓ©. However, I personally think it deserves a bit of slack as it it was one of the first, if not the first, Escape Room in the UK and at that time the puzzles which now seem clichΓ© were novel and exciting.

So this room gets a slightly higher rating than it would do if I had played it recently, but the PurpleB of 2015 thought it was great!

That said, it's still a good, well-designed room, and still ...

Outside the room Several months had passed since I'd last visited Hint Hunt, and, frankly, not much had changed. Same OK, but not inspiring venue. Same crowded waiting area. The hosts make you feel welcome though, so while it's not an amazing experience, it's perfectly passable. I'd come with two rooms' worth of people this time,

They say you never forget your first time. And while that may be true, they never ask you to write 500 words on it three years after the fact. While I remember a little about the room, perhaps the most frustrating thing is that I don’t remember how I found out about it. At the time HintHunt were the only escape room in the entire country, and there was little to no press coverage, yet somehow I’d happened upon their website, and decided the idea was cool enough to be something I very much wanted to try. After convincing a couple of friends of the same, a new obsession was born.
