While the ASF heatedly debates the most important items on the agenda in a video meeting, unforeseen incidents occur. All of a sudden, Elvira's kitchen puts all other important issues in the background. Actually, only the ransom that Elvira swindled on the ASF should be recaptured there. However, there are indications in the kitchen that point to really weird hanky-panky...

Lots of weirdzo story - so much it was a bit confusing for me, my teammates didn't seem over whelmed, though - and I love lots of story. Not only were there a whole cast of characters involved (so impressive!) the team was also kind of conscripted to act and... they totally randomly picked the person who knew how to nail a certain role, which was so funny. They said they have no plans to stop doing the live avatar thing, and it's different from the IRL game they can run in the same space. Very cool.
Booking was by What'sapp because it was short notice at 2 days out and there was a time diff but by the next morning I had a message that they'd already arranged the actors, so that was efficient, and saved a lot of back and forth.
We weren't over time by much, but they did comment on the fact we were just 4 people, so maybe they usually run it with more?
Really fun! Played this with my team and they did a fantastic job making sure all were participating. Highly recommend for all
Had a blast playing this room! Great team of people behind the scenes putting it all together! Would play another of their games in the future!
This game has all the makings of a wonderful experience. The narrative is novel, the set is immersive, and there is a good assortment of puzzles. Through particularly clever integration of cut scenes, it seemed like there was a whole cast of actors involved. Like the Pursuit of the Assassin Artist and Miss Jezebel this game incorporated some neat "out of Zoom/Telescape" elements. I am confident that most fans of those games will really like this one.
Unfortunately it also included my very least favourite online escape room trope--the naive or idiot avatar. Or, in this case, the cowardly avatar. Everything we asked the avatar to do was questioned and pushed back against because of the character that he was playing. It was tremendously frustrating! I simply do not have the patience to have the "no really go through the freaking door" conversation that many times. I don't know if the actor was playing it up in particular because we were moving through the game quickly. But I would personally have preferred to spend less time on the experience, but not be super frustrated!
So if you are a more patient person than I, and like the theatrical style of escape rooms, you'll probably think this room is amazing. But if you don't enjoy wanting to kick your avatar in the bum 20 times in an hour, perhaps this one is not for you!

The list of avatar games that have actually been created for that format, rather than built for physical play then converted through necessity, is exceedingly short; but the release of Showdown extends that list by one. And like some of the others on that list, it’s an exceptional game that experiments with the genre format to make a highly distinctive experience.
The mission involves infiltrating a suspect’s apartment, a premise that’s somewhat similar to that of two other well-known and highl...
