Escape from Oz is a beautiful escape room, and I'm only giving it 4/5 because it's not quite up there with the best games in the area, but it's still one that should be on your must-play list. The first area is very authentic, and a little bit of nice tech to add to the atmosphere. slightly further along I do think one point is extremely realistic/immersive and I really give top marks to whoever designed that. Unfortunately I think it's probably in the puzzle area that it could do with a little more thought. most of them it's fairly obvious what to do, and there aren't many moments where you're really struggling to work out what to do next or getting a really satisfying 'AHA!' moment (but it's a good game for those who like reading and counting). There are a lot of puzzles so it still takes up the time, but I didn't feel like it was a major brain teaser overall. (However looking at instagram perhaps i'm wrong because a lot of bigger teams didn't manage to escape, so it may just be down to the individual and what they can spot.) The harder puzzles were in the final area, and we did need a little clue or two to just get through the final section and escape. The story could be slightly better too, as if you hadn't seen the film you might not really know why you're finding certain things in the last section of the game. It starts off really immersive but feels like it should be a 2 hour room with more sections to really fulfil the fantasy. And this is me being really picky, because I can see a lot of love has gone into it and lots of people will enjoy it. Maybe a 'part 2' would be something to consider one day. The hosting was really good, and if I could suggest one area of improvement it would be to have a countdown/clue system in the later areas. Going back every time was a bit of a pain and clock drainer.

We’re so glad we squeezed this game in whilst on holiday! Some great moments, logical puzzles and an absolutely fantastic games master.

The easiest of Sherlocked’s three rooms - amazing use of pre-existing rooms, though sometimes felt not all the space was utilised. A couple of moments where I felt like we were just stood waiting, but a nice theatrical ending.

Fantastic escape room! After doing close to 100 escape rooms. This is up there in my top 3, possibly my favourite. The host was very friendly and was such a good games master. The room was extremely good. I’ve never been scared in an escape room before, but I was VERY close in this one. One point, I did jump a little, but I genuinely don’t get scared. The person I was with though, was very scared 😂.
The room was very well thought out and the puzzles weren’t too hard to understand, but you needed to think about it!
I would highly recommend this escape room, and I will definitely be back to do more rooms here. Amazing!

I have to start by saying I think this one is a little bit overhyped (it's impossible to ignore the off the charts attention and praise this room receives - I was expecting the floor to levitate or something) so if you're experienced with a fair number of rooms under your belt already, maybe temper your expectations a little bit (I wish I had..., the street/alley/avenue set is something that we have seen 3-4 times already now, I was hoping for something unique (although the rotations may provide that in the future)), but that said this is still a 5 star experience, it just didn't blow my mind like I was hoping it would! For me I actually think that for all the talk about the set, the story and the immersion, there's not enough praise of the puzzles themselves, and for what it's worth, for me as a whole package they are some of the best we have done in terms of the underlying logic and reasoning behind them. They really give you that sense of AHA! when you figure them out, and that is exactly what a good puzzle should do - not frustrate with leaps in logic but be just hard enough to make you work for the solution, and then wonder what took you so long! There were lots of 2-3 step thinking required which we found really enjoyable. I liked trying to get as many the crystals as you could as well (combined with the knowledge that you only needed 8 to get out, any additional were just stretch goals), and even though we were pretty short (it's nigh on impossible to get them all in a 2, I think you need 4 minimum, there's just too much to get through) it was great of the host to take us through those that we didn't get. If you're local however, I would recommend just playing again so you can do them all in two goes! Definitely looking forward to coming back and doing the other rotations!

Much better than the other puzzle post games we have played. The higher difficulty definitely made it feel more like a puzzle than the easier ones. Liked some of the details in this one and great care given to make the experience authentic. I would like to see more variety in the into letters as they all just sound the same.

Partner & sons did new Crux Codillicus room at Escaporium last night & loved it – they said it was tough but excellent. You should review it when you can.
I’m keen to! Chances to get to that part of the country are rare, but Crux Codillicus is on my must-play list for the next time I’m in the area.
