Played this as part 3 of a box set.

They definitely saved the best till last. The first one in this set was a bit of a slog so I'm glad we stuck it out and tried this one.

The technology element was great and worked really well.

Did have the occasional leap in logic which did kind of make sense in hindsight.

Worst escape room I’ve ever played. I’m not even going to take the time to formulate the negatives into a comprehensive review.

Here’s the bullet points and if that doesn’t tell you to turn and run then good luck to you:

Started late by 30 mins.

Host not watching game.

Host running multiple games.

Host also making drinks and food while running games.

Door to main room was half open (just told not to look in until it’s fully open)

Snapped key, clearly a broken puzzle just left in there.

Gate to 3rd room was unlocked and wide open.

The “secret” exit door was wide open.

Told us we’d find a 2nd torch, and if we didn’t we should just use phone torch. (There was no 2nd torch)

Props falling apart.

Tatty puzzles with some missing pieces.

Tatty Props stuck to wall with tape.

Wires hanging down from ceiling.

Awkward non-creepy screaming sounds effects.

So much reading in the dark.

Very confusing introduction.

TV in lift not working.

There was writing and puzzles on the wall half covered over by other props.

(My friend played this game when it was an older version of this game and they said all the stuff which was half covered were leftover puzzles for the 1st version which they couldn’t be bothered to fully cover up)

Certain puzzles just weren’t turned on. So when we solved them nothing happened.

We were told by the GM there would be a live actor, there was not.

Although someone did wander into the room and immediately leave (maybe someone looking for toilet)

After 30 minutes they radioed to tell us our time was up and to leave the room. (Obviously forgot they started us 30 mins late.)

The flow didn’t make any sense but that could be because half the puzzles weren’t turned on or already open.

The final puzzle apparently we did correctly but the item didn’t drop, so was told to put our arm up the tube (up to the shoulder) to try and reach the final item and pull it out ourselves.

Cupboards that opened but didn’t have anything inside.

We “finished” in under an hour and he had the audacity to tell us that he gave us extra time.

A great day out. I was skeptical about how immersed I would actually feel when there is so many other people about. But the way they have organised it has really pulled it off!I cannot wait to come back.

Seems like every game we tried was flawed in some way. We're lucky we wasn't put with strangers though!

Not so much an escape room as a First Person Shooter video game. Do not expect to be going around solving puzzle and opening locks.

This was the best play-at-home game I've done out of about 100. MUST TRY!

Ultimately, this room is a great game, the puzzles have a nice mix of logic and physical elements. The set looks decent and a lot of effort has been put into the working components of the game.Sadly, we played it just after Viking and it's hard not to compare the two. This game lacked any clear signposting, and while there wasn't a plethora of locks there was still enough to make it frustrating that you had to try them all. The puzzles in this one seemed much more drawn out and tedious.I would still recommend it, but if you have a choice, do Vikings.

This has gone up there as one of my favorite rooms. The initial story and the booming acoustics made it feel like we were in a Disney World ride.  There were lots of great reveals and surprises throughout the entire game. It's a 75-minute game but I feel like most teams with at least 50 games under their belt will do it within 60 minutes, but I guess the extra time ensures that all teams get to see the entire game and all its wow factors. Will be back to do the other two we didn't have time to try.

As expected, another brilliant game from Escape Quest. Even after playing the 4 previous games here, the magic of Chapelgate Mysteries is never lost on us. The care and dedication put into these rooms is astonshing.

I was very underwhelmed by the first section of this game. Thankfully we did it rather quickly and the game got a lot more interesting. The second section of the game looked amazing, had some very interesting puzzles and use of space. Apparently, most teams don’t do the first section as quickly which seems like a shame. They’re definitely missing the best parts of the game.

Nothing wrong with this game but also nothing to make it special. Probably best for first timers.

Another brilliant game from Escape Quest! This was the fourth one we've done here and it was perfect. Just when we thought we'd seen everything they could offer, they pull the rug out from under us and surprise us all over again!
Cannot wait for what they do in their new one.

My first game at Escape Leicester and I was pleasantly surprised. (Escape as a brand can be very hit & miss) There clearly has been a lot of effort put into this game and considering we played a few days after opening it's great to not have had any issues. The room is one of the smallest I've played and I wish I had played it as a team of two or three; as five of us made the area very tight and left most of us just watching half the time.  Our host was very energetic and made us feel very welcome and he clearly enjoyed his job.

A very large room with good use of space. Nice puzzles which made sense. (Although some items could do with replacing due to wear) Very easy to find venue with plenty of parking. The rooms even smell like you’d expect them to!
We did the 100 minute version of this game.Very good fun, a few tense decisions to make during this game.
A very fun experience with lots to do for everyone. It’s perfect for everyone not just kids.
One of the best Christmas games I’ve played. One puzzle was so incredibly clever, very impressed.

A MUST try game here. Definitely my favorite game at Beverley. A nice variety of areas and puzzles. Plenty of things to do and nothing frustrating at all. You actually solve puzzles in this game, it's not just pointy pointy wandy wandy.
Outcome: Successful escape!

It’s refreshing to see a game with plenty of space. You can literally run around in this room if you want to.
The venue also had plenty of free parking.
Personally we thought there was a little too much figurative hand-holding but that’s just us.
The staff were very charismatic and went out their way to accommodate us.
Will be back.
