Clockwork Escapes Telford's "The Creep" delivers a truly immersive and atmospheric escape room experience. The puzzles are a well-balanced mix of physical and mental challenges, offering both satisfaction and frustration in equal measure. The gamemaster's dedication to character, maintained both inside and outside the game, adds an extra layer of immersion. While the overall experience didn't fully resonate with me, "The Creep" is undoubtedly worth exploring for those seeking a challenging and distinct adventure.
As with all the games here the sets are always quite impressive. Some good original puzzles which we loved with lots of variation however just not enough puzzles for us.
Wasnβt a fan of the end and the task you had to do. We found it was more luck, than skill.
The host is a unique character with an unusual hosting style which Iβm sure some people love but personally I find a little annoying. Lots of unwanted communication throughout the game.
You also get time knocked off every time you touch βThe Creepβ (the plant) which personally I donβt think is fair.
I was fairly enjoying this room until the end. I don't want to spoil the room so I can't say what happened but it was a little bit painful and also very difficult (you must be good at physical aspects of escape rooms to complete this game).
I also have to say that we have a love hate relationship with Clockwork Escapes. The GM at Clockwork Escapes is a character called the Professor. He is quite grouchy and above it all and to begin with we found him quite funny. However, we did all 3 rooms in one day at by the end of the 3rd room we felt quite demotivated and just wanted to leave. He never broke character which on one hand is very impressive but any time you wanted a clue he was quite belittling and by the end of the 3rd room it had got on our nerves a little.
I think if you did just one room at a time, you'd quite enjoy the quirky professor and find him funny but 3 hours back to back was a bit much.
So active and engaging. Had a blast here!
