Once upon a timeโ€ฆ.

โ€ฆthere was an old run-down house where some children lived with their foul aunt and uncle.

Whenever they were left in the house, they were locked in the living room and longed to escape to a happier place.

They puzzled over a curious locked door in the corner of the room, from behind which they had heard laughing and screams of joy.

They fantasized about the fun they could have in that room, and that just maybe the way to escape their misery lay beyond.

One day the aunt and uncle left the children and told them they would be back in an hourโ€™s time.

The children decided this was the time to find a way into the forbidden room of fun, and possibly find a way to escapeโ€ฆ

A fun room with some clever ideas and some nostalgic puzzles. The finish is a little amateurish but it's still a solid and fun room. Plenty to do in parallel, though a couple of the puzzles were a little obtuse and needed hints to progress. Fun if you like your retro games.

A love letter to the 80s!  This is very much a game to two halves, the first part is relatively linear from puzzle to puzzle but then it becomes very non-linear with a wide range of puzzles (including some tricky dexterity based ones).  This is very family friendly with some great moments that should leave you with a smile on your face.

quite difficult

Wow! What a fantastic room with a unique premise and just lots of fun! We completed this as a team of 2 and god was it difficult but so much fun. I would recommend at least 3 people for this room as there are quite a few physical puzzles and it's non-linear so you can split up to tackle.

We opted to take on the room on hard mode (the addition of a puzzle which adds ~10 mins to the game - stupid of us really as we were just a team of 2 on this occasion) and we got out in 62mins (if only our hubris hadn't gotten in the way!)

They're opening up a new room later this year and we absolutely cannot wait to take this on too!

Good fun game, started off quite standard then became a very enjoyable non-linear affair. This was apparently their hardest setting which didn't feel like it. Set was the weakest point but there was more thought put into the story than most other games. Enjoyable and probably a good room to take beginners to

My mum and I stumbled across this company on the internet after we had exhausted the majority of our other local escape rooms.

Being my 53rd game I was looking for something a little different and the Forbidden Room of Fun certainly did not disappoint. Our games master was welcoming and the game themeing and story was equally great. We completed the room as a a team of 2 (with 5 minutes bonus time) and it was good that we could set the level of difficulty before beginning. I think larger groups would also enjoy playing this game as there is a fair bit to do.

We are looking forward to trying Escape the Chop at their other venue.
