The hosting of the game was great, strong theatrics and I can never say no to a good costume. I loved the split start of the game where everyone had their own space and own puzzles to solve but it still required strong collaboration with our team mates.
The hosting was probably the best ive had, with the game masters costume and character and humour all being perfect.
Worth playing purely for the originality and unusualness, let alone the rest.
We went into this thinking 'oh no not another pirate room' but boy were we wrong! The building is just gorgeous and the room is set up as if you're locked up in a real brig. The attention to detail is really something else - you can tell a lot of love and effort has gone into this. The brig involves lots of teamwork as you're locked in seperate cells but as long as you all communicate you'll be fine! Our favourite part of this game was the amazing hosting and executioner who we had to convince we weren't trying to escape by running back to our chains every time he came past. It really added an extra layer of fun!
A wonderfully unique game that was fantastically hosted by Charlie. Found the theming excellent and authentic, and the handcuff mechanic was well executed to feel safe while simultaneously immersive. Puzzles required strong teamwork and were logical, although we'd have enjoyed a "hard" version of the game with even more to do. If you're after a less standard but very fun game, look no further than the Brig. The owners/GMs of Live Escape Salisbury are super friendly and I can't wait to see what the design next
This game is unique to most other Escape Rooms in that it requires full teamwork - rather than having multiple puzzles which you go between, the puzzles and solutions are divided up between the different cells each participant is in, so a puzzle in the 4th person's cell may require the clue in the 1st person's cell to solve.
This is a matter of communication - and has a satisfying physical element when you're passing keys/objects through slits between the cells.
This can make the game a challenging one as you really do have to work together and solve the problems together - but also means you can't just rely on just one player, making the game much more involving.
Add to that an excellent use of a historic building and setting alongside hand-made props to create a fantastic atmosphere.
The host did an excellent job of keeping us on our toes by occasionally patrolling as our would-be executioner (as well as monitoring us as with most escape games as we played), further adding to the environment and meaning they could ensure we played correctly.
We didn't play the versus game this time, though that sounded a lot of fun too.
Overall, an excellent experience and one I would highly recommend to any team of players. I'd hesitate to sign up with a team smaller than 4 as you'd miss out on some of the cooperative element.

Live Escape's original game Spectre remains much loved by enthusiasts, so I'd been looking forward to trying their second full physical game. This one is at a different and more central address, and is distinctive in its play style - you could almost describe it as a concept game. That concept is one of separation, communication and cooperation, which most prison games use initially; this one is unusual in building more or less the entire game around that.
