I liked this format a whole lot—since it's audio-based, we didn't have to constantly check in with the room video like you do in games where there's an avatar in an actual room, so it was easier to focus. I was apprehensive with all the information we got up front, but the gameplay was pretty seamless because we all had our own material to look through and our amazing host/actor was great at improvising nudges to help us along when we needed it. We loved the personalization of having different roles, though it helps to have someone outgoing in the Communicator role and someone well-versed at Picross-style logic puzzles in the Hacker role. With all the different story/puzzle branches, it'd be fun to play again and see what we missed.
Wouldn't call this a remote livestream room as its completely audio led, which is a good thing as you haven't time to watch an avatar as you're way too busy doing your selected role. We were treated to a fabulous performance by our host David who was impressive with the ad libs and reacted brilliantly to our off the wall comments.
Fast and frantic, and ideal for a team who play together frequently. Just make sure you're well caffienated before you start!
This audio-style escape room excellently GMed and acted by Grace our Agent Venture on the ground (and other roles besides) was a fantastic team-driven experience. We were all slightly nervous at having to individually perform under time pressure, this added to the tension and satisfaction of completing the mission. Even if we had failed, I feel like we would have been given a satisfactory ending. Recommended particularly for teams who have played together a few times before, have diverse skill sets, have one person who doesn't mind doing some at lib.
Not an avatar in a real room, but a very competent actor talking over audio, taking on different roles and voices when necessary. The players all have different roles, which means that you have information that's given only to you, in the form of a giant Google Drive data dump. You can communicate anything to other other players, of course, but there's so much to do that you'll barely have enough time to find what you need to finish the mission, let alone tell everything to the other players.
The separate roles and the frenetic pace elevates this above all the "control an avatar in a real room" experiences, assuming you can handle the time pressure and the need for everyone to be active. The other rooms usually have enough flexibility to allow a player to be passive and let the others play the game. Here, you can't afford that.
It's possible the game even has replay value. We're interested in finding out.
One (hopefully spoiler-avoiding) note -- even if you fail, stick around. Your booking is for an hour, and there's definitely content to be had even after the timer buzzes.

Even though the term has broadened recently to include a whole variety of online experiences, I wouldn’t call Agent Venture an escape room. It uses some of the same skills, and will appeal to a great many of those who like escape rooms, but it’s a distinctively different sort of experience, with strong elements of interactive fiction and immersive theatre, and a whole lot of frantic problem solving in a style that’s its own unique format.

Agent Venture experiences have a few things that set them apart from other escape games. Firstly, you have a live actor with you the whole time (thanks Dispatch Jason!). Secondly, ahead of the game all players must choose their role – and choose carefully! Thirdly, it’s not exactly an escape game – it’s an ADVENTURE. Fourthly, and most importantly, it’s so much more than an adventure – it’s a choose your own adventure. Every path you take is unique and every team who plays will have a very different experience from the next.
