Each of the three chapters takes approximately 2-3 hours to complete, and can be played solo or in a small group.

I know this has rave reviews, but I played it after playing two of the DarkPark boxed games (which I loved) and my expectations were very high. Sadly it didn't really connect with me. I found the puzzles way too complex and the artwork all a bit twee. I feel bad writing this review as I really wanted to love it.

If it weren’t obvious from this review, we really, really enjoyed The Emerald Flame. I’m repeating myself, but it may well be one of the very best in our genre. For this reason (and a million others), I’m awarding this tabletop game The Escape Roomer “Badge of Honour“.

Emerald Flame is in a class of its own, from its art direction to its gameplay. Its three chapters had tight, creative puzzles. They varied in complexity, while feeling fair and innovative. Emerald Flame felt like a successor to Post Curious’ first product Tale of Ord… but tighter and more refined in virtually every way.
