Highly recommended.  Had done the Pathogen game previously, these guys set up their games well.  Critical mass did not disappoint!  Really fun game, family loved it.  I wish Doomsday Games colchester had even more games.

Another outstanding set from Doomsday Games that really transports you into the story. Lots of great puzzles on offer but without being overwhelming. Great mix of puzzle types, with something for everyone on the team.

The host was lovely and looked after us well. We love a 90 minute room and this one was no exception - would recommend going out of your way to visit this room!

This game is on a different level to so many others I have played. The theming is immaculate with some fun Easter eggs for people with an eye for detail and a nerdy inclination. The game is fully immersive and story driven with brain bendy and tactile puzzles. Enthusiast or newbie, if youโ€™re looking for a real experience as well as a game with spot on balance of fun and challenge, this is it!

Another high-tech game! Creative storyline which flows effortlessly. Like their other room, the puzzles were challenging and kept us very busy for the full 90 minutes. However, when reflecting on the room, the first puzzle seems rather difficult to be faced with when you first start. Had this puzzle been a few steps in, it might have felt less draining! Although, we did feel a great sense of achievement when we succeeded. Nice balance of tech vs physical puzzles. The final puzzle may benefit from sign posting as there was one element that felt quite subjective.

Big shout out to Michelle who ran this room for the first time during our visit. She guided us through the room efficiently with excellent and hilarious communication.

Having played the Pathogen room several years ago I had been waiting to play this game and it was definitely worth the wait. Very challenging game though, so fair warning! We were told out of 34 teams who have played so far we were only the 6th to escape! Some really fun puzzles and tech that Iโ€™ve not seen before which is always a nice thing to see. The only thing for me keeping me from putting it as 5 stars is that I felt some of the puzzles repeated themselves just a little too much or went on a little too long but I could see for a larger team this would be beneficial as it would allow everyone to have a go. All in all though, itโ€™s another very strong room from Doomsday. Also, the hosts (yeah there were 2!) Cat and Michelle were lovely and we spent a nice little while talking escape rooms too

Continuing with the end of the world is nigh theme, Critical Mass continues 5 years after their other game Pathogen left us. As expected this game lived up to the expectations of its predecessor with some really fun multistep puzzles, unique theming, special effects and nods to the other game thrown in. Both games at Doomsday are must plays if in the area.

If you love a high tech game, youโ€™re likely to love Critical Mass. There were a few things that made me love it a little less than Pathogen, but that could just be me being picky.
