Original setting on a real ship by the dock and utilises this well to create one wow moment in the final section. Besides this a pretty basic experience when considering both puzzles and storyline but still the best offering in Dublin.
In one word, superb.
Starts off standard although it is pretty damn cool you’re doing an escape room on a boat (although it is the second room we have done on a boat as we’d done the Golden Hinde.)
The final third is monumental. I don’t want to give away spoilers but at one particular point I genuinely forgot I was playing a game.
Absolutely buzzing when we escaped & enjoyed a well earned cocktail in bar opposite.
Accessibility notes - a couple of ladders and some clambering. One person will need to be a bit more flexible.
This was one of the best escape rooms we've played! The fact the whole game takes place on a boat is interesting, unique and very immersive. I can't go into too much detail without spoiling but there are certain elements to the game which really ramp up the energy and made for an adrenaline filled game.
Been waiting to play this game for ages, and it lives up to its reputation! It’s definitely the most expensive room I’ve played, but you understand why by the end. Puzzles may be a little lacking, but by god, the spectacle. It really makes the best of being on a boat, and I’d encourage anyone visiting dublin to visit just for the experience.
Eoghan and Sparsh were excellent hosts for this wonderful, unique venue!
100% reccomend!
This was the most immersive escape room I have ever done. Firstly, it's on a literal boat, so the immersion is there from the start... But it gets better!
Everything is immensely clever and well thought-out, the puzzles never feel confusing or difficult. It's a room with a lot of "eureka" moments, and everything completely makes sense. Not a puzzle nor a prop feels out of place.
Fiza was an incredible games master, and was so friendly and funny that it really added to this experience.
This was my 46th room, and my partner has done about 10, and we both said it was our favourite ever.
Really loved this - a unique experience. The escape is really, truly, on a boat in a small harbour in Dublin. We had hard hats as protection and there are even wellies in the room to keep with the theming.
The puzzles flowed well and we really cleverly designed to fit with the space. A cracking end section made this a must visit escape room. I wish we had had time to do the other room on the boat (which CAN be done as a two player, despite their website saying it is minimum 4 players).

Escape Boats must have had an easier time than most escape room companies when thinking up a name for their business: they have an obvious distinguishing feature, with their games set inside a boat moored in Dublin’s Grand Canal. The boat hosts two games, each occupying half the vessel, and SOS is the first one they created.
Your mission is simply to escape, to make sure you do not go down with your ship. The challenge is that you’re locked in and need to repair some of the ship systems to rele...
