Our box (previously unopened) was missing probably the most important card in the set...
Posted in r/games and someone sent a photo of the card but with the dimensions (viewing it on a phone) being different to the other cards and having to line things up etc, this was completely unsolvable. Big let down
This is a split the party, no real spoilers here, while it is set for a higher player count it still works with a few players. Clever end game
Definitely worth bearing in mind the split team element on this particular game when deciding who to play with. I imagine this would be more enjoyable with more than 2 people. Tripped us up for a long time in the game because we did not have the ability to check silly mistakes!
Some clever puzzles, object combinations made sense, few hidden objects (we are terrible at finding these so this is not a bad thing!) After completing the game, we flipped over the remaining cards and found 2 that did not fit anywhere into the narrative (like the game should have continued past the last door, but it didn't, very odd!)
Really like the Unlock! games, need to order another box now...
This game started out cool but got really frustrating at certain points. The split team element didn't work so well for us, and one of the final puzzles was hard to make sense of. We enjoyed other Unlock games more.
The Island is the hardest of the first batch of Unlock! games. This is a split team game! -- you will be divided into two groups with limited cooperation. It's a large game, with many segments; we didn't finish in the allotted hour. There are many tricky puzzles (in some cases made trickier by the split team) and the hint system isn't always up to the task.
That all said it's a very involved and challenging ER-at-home game.
In general, Unlock! is less puzzly than games like EXIT, but more about intuiting how to combine objects in a logical way. The penalty system can be a bit off putting. Nothing is destroyed; the game may be given away and used by another team.
my favorite of the Unlock! series, really enjoyed the split team mechanism, which makes this one unique

Interestingly, this game has you split into two. We played it with just two people, which was a little tricky at the start – we weren’t exactly sure what we could and couldn’t say to each other, or who had to make the next move. But the game play was massively rewarding with “Aha!” moments throughout and a huge feeling of satisfaction when we finally did reunite towards the end.
