The Aviator’s Study is a unique escape room experience, perfect for teenagers and adults of all ages looking for a challenge. Inspired by flying pioneer Amy Johnson, the attraction lets players pit their wits against a series of puzzles and riddles in order to break out of the study before the time runs out. Teams have one hour to work the navigational tools, crack the codes and spring the locks.

I played with a 65 year old who had no idea of what an escape room was. Managed to escape with around 26/27 minutes remaining after completing all of the puzzles myself. Very easy room for experienced players but great for newbies. Fun little elements within. Single room. Maybe has potential for a secret revealed room to add a little wow element but that’s me being picky.
Although more geared towards beginners and families we still had fun. The hosts are always welcoming and the room flowed well with a mix of puzzles and a nice ending.
At Christmastime, it's back to Hull for an escape on home turf.
Story
Sent
back to the 1920s only to be trapped in Amy Johnson’s study, you’ve got an hour
to find your way out. I love escape rooms with links to the local area, and so the
fact that this one is inspired by Hull’s own pilot who became the first woman to
fly solo from London to Australia ticked the box for me.
Puzzles
A
mixture of dead-easy and slightly more convoluted travel-themed puzzles to fit in
with the story. The final puzzle results in one of the cutest ends to an escape
room ever.
Mise-en-scène
Charming and nostalgic,
it did feel like we’d gone back in time, especially with the old-fashioned,
muffled radio playing in the background. A study is a simple setting, but this
one was evocative and well-designed.

An
endearing escape. I totally agree with the info on their website: it’s great
for first timers and families.

A fun but simple room with lots of logical puzzles. For me, it's a great game for introducing players to the genre but enthusiasts should probably steer clear as it won't present much of a challenge.
