Recommended team size from website is 4+, but we were allowed to play as a 3 due to previous escape room experience. Definitely felt like there was enough to do in the room as a 3 so larger groups would get on well with it. It was very well themed and enjoyed the story of the room, especially with the ending. None of the puzzles felt repetitive or overused and there was enough sign posting in the room for things to make sense without being glaringly obvious. My only gripe is that some of the cupboards didn't open without (what I would consider) excessive force and we missed couple things early on because we weren't pushing hard enough. We basically had to get a clue for "hit it harder", which resulted in a teammate just punching it for it to open. The games host, Johnathan, was excellent though and we had a good chat between our game. Definitely sold the experience to us.

Little bit harder as a 2 in the time but certainly do-able. An older room but a great theme and well done. Some of the puzzles are a little more tricky to follow but we enjoyed it overall.

Not too impressed with this despite some favourable reviews. The set felt poorly maintained and tech felt janky / unresponsive. Puzzles needed better signposting and there was a lot of faffing around as it wasn't obvious what to focus on next. Ending was something different at least - although the difficulty selection at such a late stage seemed like an odd inclusion. There were some fun references throughout however

Space-themed games aren't our normal top choice but we really enjoyed First Contact; it's a well-trodden theme that's been approached from a different angle here and it was lovely to see something a bit different.
There are some common spaceship tropes but also some quirky elements that added to the nice variety of puzzles.
Hosting was particularly good - our GMs were really friendly and suggested a lovely cafe for us for our wait between games.

An Alien Adventure
I brought (most of) my original
team who I did my very first escape room with here…to play my 100th! If you’re
a student, Cryptology offers 10% discount.
Story
Board a stranded space vessel and
find out what happened to the crew- be prepared to make a tricky decision on
the way!
Puzzles
There was a good variety of challenges-
technological and not-so-technological, but in a humorous way. Some of them
were difficult and so a handful of hints were needed.
Mise en scene
It was an immersive room, made to
look like an abandoned space lab. The low lighting and smoke machine helped.
Final Comments
We chose the ‘best’ (and
trickiest) ending, escaping with three minutes to spare. Our host was very
welcoming: they presented us with slices of ‘Escake’ to celebrate my hundredth.
The game that introduced us to Cryptology- and what a game it was! We played this with our friends and regular escape companions, Tasha and Rach, and all four of us LOVED it! There was simply so much to do! In this game, you are tasked with boarding the TRSS Caelus to find out what happened to the crew of the spaceship orbiting Mars whose communication has ceased…
