I have always heard wonderful things about Strange Bird, I love their blog, and I was excited to get to experience an immersive theatre/puzzle hybrid experience. Unfortunately this experience just didn't do it for me on either an immersive theatre level or a puzzle level. On a puzzle level, there was next-to-nothing to solve; on an immersive level, it felt as if they had simply lifted scenes that felt thrilling in person (an actor gazing into your eyes, acknowledging you) and expected them to translate over Zoom, where the same interactions felt commonplace. Eschaton and One Day Die (minus the technical issues) play in the same interactive space with considerably more success. I'll still show up to the next Strange Bird virtual thing, if there indeed is such a thing, but with tempered expectations.
Really different and fun. Well designed for Covid times. Needs earlier sessions to be GMT friendly though!
Stellar immersive acting and beautiful sets. I really enjoyed the individual scenes, though the show felt a bit fragmented overall.
Fabulous date night experience! I plan to bring a group of friends next...
