Rhondda Escape Rooms: Strangest Things Experience

This was the first escape room I’ve ever done and it was incredible. The others on my team had done them before but even they said it was the best experience that they’ve had with an escape room. The owners were so welcoming and explained everything in detail for us. The rooms themselves were so detailed and so creative (I won’t spoil anything) but if you’re a fan of the show, you’ll know recognise even the smallest details. Even if you’re not a fan of the show, as one of my team mates were you can still appreciate everything. Once we were done, the owners and their team took the time to speak with us and explain what they’ve done to set up the escape rooms and the experiences they’ve had, as well as asking us how we found the room.  All in all the experience was so good we’ve recommended Rhondda Escape rooms to everyone. As a small business compared to the ones in Cardiff they’ve really outdone them all and being so local it’s well worth it. Thank you so much to the team! (If you do this room, keep an eye out for the feet lol)

The owners are extremely friendly and the room is very cleverly built and the game was well thought out, will definitely come back to do the other rooms. 

I have done over 100 rooms now and this is one of, if not the best, room I have ever done! The attention to detail is second to none. 

From the second you arrive (especially the entrance) to the moment you escape (if you’re good enough to escape) you are completely immersed in the theme. The puzzles are innovative and original, there isn’t one thing that’s the same.

I cannot recommend this room, in fact, I cannot recommend the venue enough. The hosts are incredible and you can see the passion in what they want to do. It’s not about making money it’s about making it an experience for everyone. 

Additionally, as far as escape rooms go it is reasonably cheap, but you could pay double if not triple and still feel you are having your moneys worth. 

I will be reviewing their second room shortly as that is just as good and I can’t wait to visit when their third room opens - after being given a sneak peak I can tell you it is going to be incredible! 

**Hidden gem of an escape room in the Rhondda, definitely worth a trip!**

We had the pleasure of playing the Stranger Things room at Rhondda Escape Rooms today.

Having completed around 30 different rooms before, we went in not expecting to be blown away because its a little "out of the way" compared to the usual City based venues we've played at. 

We couldn't have been more wrong!

The attention to detail and effort put into the room(s) design was insane, we were 100% blown away by both the room styling and the waiting area. The puzzles were fantastic, not too difficult but also not too easy, and overall a nice mix of physical and mental activities (with some hidden surprises), and as a team of 4 (three adults one child), we all had something to do throughout the experience. 

The hosts were second to none (I think we spent 20-30 minutes either side of the booking just chatting to them), very welcoming, reassuring to our son that it wouldn't be too scary which we really appreciated. (Optional jump scares / added ambiance was on offer to creep it up a bit and add a little more excitement for teams without kids).

One last note is a great thing about the location compared to most we've been to - it has free parking practically on the doorstep 😉 

Overall I'd highly recommend it and we're looking forward to going back soon to play The Asylum and the WIP room when its done! 

We have just completed this room and WOW! What a fantastic immersive experience. 

We played as 3 adults + 10 year old and everyone loved every minute. Plenty of puzzles and at just the right difficulty. 

We have played a fair few rooms prior to this, and I must say, the theme-ing, puzzles and staff at this place were second to none. 

Highly recommend Rhondda Escape Rooms! We'll definitely be back to try the asylum!

Me and my boyfriend found this online because we are big stranger things fans and it did not disappoint! Very fun , well worth the trip would definitely definitely recommend don’t want to say much not to spoil it for anyone else but some great suprises and lovely staff , can’t wait to come again and try another 

Had a great time in this escape room, very impressed with how immersive the room is. The host was very friendly and welcoming, we will definitely be going again to try another of their rooms.

The owners at Rhondda escapes are super friendly, really enthusiastic and it was a joy to chat with them after the games. If you like strangers things, you will be obsessed with this room! The attention to detail is second to none and felt so immersive. We just wanted to stand and take in the room rather than solving the puzzles 😂 a good mix of physical and mental puzzles, something for everyone!

First time at this venue and I have to say it is certainly one we will be heading back to.

Hosts very welcoming and the decor was great, it's their first room, and what a first room it is, inspired by stranger things it led you on a journey through Hawkins and eventually back to the real world.

Puzzles were easily found, but often required finding the hidden clues or having a think about how they were to be used, sometimes having to come back to them a little later in the game.

The overall flow and amount of puzzles was fine, and kept us busy until our escape.

Overall a very good first room.
