great hosting

First game at Breakout and it won't be the last! We had a lovely host who explained the game and set the story well.  Quite an open game so we were able to spilt up and tackle this one! The spy theme was done well, and my lads loved this!

plainunoriginalquite easy

After doing several of Breakouts rooms this was quite disappointing, a plain room and unoriginal idea. They have much better rooms than this one.

Putting aside a few puzzles that didn’t fit the theme at all, this was a really enjoyable room. A wide varied of things to solve, and the fact that it is non-linear (sort of) helps you in case you get stuck on one puzzle for too long. Unfortunately some people burst into our room whilst we were playing, I doubt it was the fault of the GM though, just excitable customers.  The best room we’ve done at B.L., still the same sort of quality you’d expect in decor/props etc.

Better in Manchester, but this version was a good little game.

The venue is nice, very inclusive and spacious. Maddie was a super sweet GM and very happy to work with us in terms of only if and when we wanted clues. The room was a little plain but there were some instant things we could solve and make progress. It is fairly linear with barely any searching to do and some physical and skill puzzles as well as logic and locks. One puzzle got "stuck" so we had to be given the answer as the reveal was no sadly longer possible. But apart from a few short moments of hmmm what next, we had some lovely aha moments and the puzzles were varied and mostly enjoyable. Would just be good to see some care and attention given to rooms in venues such as this. Also some clanking and dragging chains in the walls between us and another room next door were a bit distracting! Enjoyed it on the whole if not the best room we have done.

Loved this room, our first in this venue. Some really different puzzles. Major thanks to John who made the experience with his hosting.

This room has the interesting concept that you are training to be a spy and have to complete multiple tasks using different skills to pass your final exam.

The puzzles have big variety, covering mental and physical type challenges.

This room is a competitive room, with a copy next door so that two teams can race. You can see into the other room, although we only did it as a 2 so no one was in the other room. The room is pretty bare except for the puzzles so don't expect to be blown away with immersion, but that is because the concept is based within the puzzles, not the location.

A different kind of escape room overall, which is very fun and emulates the theme well but don't expect much story.

A game unusually heavy on skill elements but without being impenetrable. Tech resetting problems significantly affected our game so the star rating probably doesn't reflect how much you'd enjoy it. Would recommend for something different and particularly for families.
