Jan Tleskac was an apprentice locksmith who claimed to have invented a flying bicycle. He met his death in mysterious circumstances, falling from the tower of St Jacobβs church. Years later a young boy stumbled across a suitcase containing Tleskacβs diary and a mysterious puzzle which Tleskak called βThe Hedgehog in the Cageβ. The boy and his friends hid the puzzle in their clubhouse where they received a visit from a masked man claiming to be the rightful owner of the puzzle. The boys ran home and reported the masked man to the police. Failing to believe such a story, the boys were dismissed. But, during the night, the officers become curious and decide to visit the clubhouse. You and your team have one hour to find the mysterious puzzle and the secret it hides before the masked man returns. Could Tleskac really have invented a flying bicycle?

There's a lot of puzzles here but (weirdly) it feels like they belong in other rooms, the narrative didn't really gel for me but the gameplay is quite good.
Some nice props in this room, that were in keeping with the story line. A couple of unique puzzles that we enjoyed. It was a nice calm, linear room for us. We sailed through quite nicely not needing assistance. A really nice escape room.

story-driven
Played the new version opened in Cambridge (same chain). Elegant simple set and nice back story. In terms of puzzles the game is largely linear (would not recommend >2 if experienced) and fairly old school so there will be little that you will not have experienced before in one way or another; so saying, the game itself was fun and we enjoyed the ending. Not amazing hosting (GM struggled with concept of a hint so the one time we asked for a pointer, she just told us the answer rather than something more subtle).

It is in fact based on a series of Czech 1940s children's stories, which gives away the Czech origin of the game's design. That design also shows through in its style.
The term 'first generation' is often used, sometimes with a negative connotation, of escape games that have mostly low tech components and not much ...
