After a wild night at a mob bar a few decades ago, you took up with the wrong crowd and now you find yourself about to rob the local diner. This isn't your first gig and you're hoping it won't be your last. The boys didn't give much detail, but said the prep work is all set; just be in and out in less than an hour. If you can pull it off, you'll be in the "Money Honey". On the other hand, if you mess this one up, you'll be writing your own version of "Jailhouse Rock", ya dig?

The Diner would be a solid entry into escape rooms. We appreciated its retro charm and puzzle flow. The Diner combined pretty standard gameplay with puzzle depth and a few more unexpected interactions, all as part of an adorable 1950s restaurant set. While we would have preferred a more dynamic final puzzle, we appreciated how the gameplay moved the narrative.
Whatβs this? Dinner and an escape room? Yes, please! Ohβ¦the name of the escape room is βThe Dinerβ because itβs modeled after a 1950βs diner? Well, that still sounds like a lot of fun, and Team Yes and Escape really wants to play. And so we went to try one of the four rooms offered by Quicksand Escape Games in the Pacific Beach neighborhood of San Diego.
