Any escape room enthusiast will know that rooms often feature secret doors that open up hidden areas - this room uses a clever trick to add a further surprise to that idea. One of the puzzles was a real irritant, the method being clear but the execution a pain (if you want us to count things, please don't make them so hard to see!), but the rest were smart and had plenty of variety, and there's a ton to do. A shame the room's closing, but I'm glad we caught it before it does.
Wow. What an original idea well executed. The first puzzle is simple enough to get you started, and from then on it really does feel like you are taking a journey through time and place. Not at all like you are just going to new parts of the room by opening a door or a panel, but actually using a specific process, and solving puzzles to make it happen. I was more fond of one main area than the other, but the variety and amount of puzzles in each were still varied and numerous. Amazing decoration, fun voiceover, agree some music in the background would be nice - just something gentle and instrumental, or something applicable to each area as you get there ๐ I know the hosts are always tweaking and listening to feedback so good on them!
Great use of space and a clever mechanic utilised throughout the game. Good variety of puzzles that meant each member of our team could show off their strengths at least once. Would've liked to have had a soundtrack in this room as it felt eerily quiet at times!
-no music/sound effects
-x2 reset fails
-was able to override puzzles which lead to diversion from linear flow.
-non-sensical/low quality/outdated puzzles.
-many many spoilers during intro.
-very sharp object which fell out of a box above players head.
-puzzles were out of theme.
-cabinet door with no handle so had to claw open after not realising for a very long time that it was meant to open.
-toilet/bathroom in middle of game, completely ruins immersion.
-so many puzzles involved grids (around 7!)
Pretty disappointed overall.
With some updates and by changes it could be great.
Loved this room, what an original concept and clever use of space. Hosts were lovely. We struggled to do all that was required with just the two of us but we escaped with a little help from the host. Thank you.
As a local we'd heard great things about GOG. We'd previously played thier other games and we're excited for this one. However we've played recently and were disappointed with a few bits.
The room itself had some great qwerks and does challenge you, but some aspects were questionable. (Sharp objects?) As well as certain bits feeling stretched out, but overall we enjoyed the game.
However, before we started our excitement was quickly extinguished as our brief (probably one of the longest I've ever had) explained in detail the best parts of the room and completely ruined the magic which felt completely unnecessary. At the point where the brief ended I was completely putout which was a shame and probably did ruin the game for us.
Great little gimmick in the room which Iโd never seen before, but it was ruined a little by the host during the brief. We were told in too much detail what would happen in the room, which did spoil it for us. Some great puzzles in there, but there were a couple that felt that theyโd been stretched out to make up the 75 minutes.
75 minute game with plenty to do. Thought this was a great game, thoroughly enjoyed the puzzles, the variety and the immersion, set design done nicely. A couple of points that could use a little finesse with how the game runs but these are minor niggles and would definitely recommend playing this if in the area.
