Itβs Victorian London, and the air is thick with fear: a spate of poisonings have been reported across the city. Every victim is different, but each crime has one thing in common: an empty vial is found by the body. There is only one suspect: the old shopkeeper of the magic shop on Drury Lane. With the shop closed and no sign of the owner, you risk entry late at night to reveal the truth behind the crimes. Entering the magic shop, it looks undisturbed. Youβd suspect nothing, were it not for the missing book which usually lies open on the counter. Where is this missing book? What did it contain? And does it prove that the old magician is the perpetrator or, in fact, completely innocent?

The poorest room at Locked In, probably made worst by playing the Chapel of unrest first and seeing their potential. The hosting was brilliant, as always, and the set was very immersive. The puzzles were a bit confusing and largely forgettable though, especially as you advanced through the game.

family friendly
As per other reviews, there are some very weary-looking puzzles in here and it could do with a spruce-up. Saying that, there were some nice puzzles which mostly made sense. What we do find here is a lack of signposting at times which can be frustrating. Overall, we enjoyed it, but then we tend to just enjoy being in an escape room fullstop!Staff are very pleasant and, with our half price voucher that we were gifted last time we were here, it was an absolute bargain.
Major let down.. tired room, enter into one room (which isn't a room) told to solve a puzzle, which we did, but no idea how, got into second room after doing the same thing 3 times, it just suddenly worked, no idea if we solved it or the host just opened the room. The second room was extremely tired, props weren't attached properly (unremoveable items were stuck down with still wet glue, resulting in getting sticky hands) some of the puzzles weren't logical and I was able to solve puzzles without actually doing the thing to solve then which confused the host, who clearly wasn't paying attention for hints because she kept repeating clues for something which had already been solved. The set was nice, if a little tired. It was a noisy room (the other horror based room was next door, with little to no soundproofing)

great hosting
A mostly linear game with a series of puzzles that vary from physical to observation and logic. Puzzles are solved with either a padlock (all the favourites) and maglock. Theming is adequate for the story conveyed but elements feel tired and in need of a refresh.
I was very pleased to be coming back to one of my favourite escaping companies for my fiftieth room. The room is one of the best Iβve done there, full of surprises and a magical experience.
