Alan was always someone we could rely on, he’d be at work super early every shift, was always happy to stay late if we needed him to, and if you could look past his obsession with pirates then he seemed like a very normal guy. Unfortunately, he’s not turned up for work two days in a row and he isn’t returning our calls, and we suspect he’s responsible for a very important manual going missing. I was very underwhelmed by the first section of this game. Thankfully we did it rather quickly and the game got a lot more interesting. The second section of the game looked amazing, had some very interesting puzzles and use of space. Apparently, most teams don’t do the first section as quickly which seems like a shame. They’re definitely missing the best parts of the game.

From reading other reviews, it seems that this ch-alan-ge is not to everybody's taste: personally, we could have a gallon of Alan.For a team of two, there's a stack to do and we were chuffed to get out in under 40 minutes. It's a physical game with some tight spaces and some excellent twists on the piratical theme that gave us a good chuckle but we had a fantastic time in here.Lighting can be a problem in here and I found myself wishing I was wearing headtorch at times so be forewarned if you find working in low light difficult - it's suitably atmospheric and really adds to the immersion but it does make seeing those pesky padlock numbers more difficult!

Another solid room by Unescapable. Very well themed, some solid puzzles/locks and tricks. Great hosting by Matt, definitely worth a visit.

Nice game the only let down was 2 Padlocks were broken within the game, when we played it. The GMs did not have any spares to replace them so we had to shout out the code we thought it was for them to confirm whether or not it was correct

Of Unescapable’s games, Alan gives away the fewest clues to its theme - something about finding a missing employee? But there are enough subtle and not so subtle hints in the website details that I don’t think I’m giving anything away by saying this is a pirate themed room - though that might not be obvious when the game begins.

A pirate themed room, but not as you know it. Surprise awaits you when you enter this room, and then you’re taken on a wonderful journey as the story develops.
