Reasonable play in the same vein as other Unlock! games. This particular scenario was a little forgettable, and in one case you had to use the mechanism in a surprising way which left us stumped for a while.

They’ve been out on the far side of the Atlantic for a while now, but the three new Unlock games finally reached the U.K. in December. Here they’re sold as a single box of three games with each described as a different difficulty level, and House on the Hill is the first and easiest.

Ahhh, lockdown 2.0… It’s back and it’s gloomier than ever. So I find myself once again at my board game shelf, rummaging around for fun things to do with Player 2 at home. Enter “The House on the Hill!”
Oops – this one has actually been on my list for MONTHS. I’d put it aside as a perfect Halloween game to play. Halloween came and went. So better to play this one late than never! Even if we did choose to play this on a sunny Saturday morning instead of a candlelit Halloween evening it’s designed for.
A harder game, but it flowed better than other Unlock Games. We even managed to complete the game in 48 minutes. However, we suffered a number of penalties on this game which reduced the fun. Also one hidden number was unseeable – even one we had the answer we couldn’t see it!
It's a very reasonable escape at home game, the artwork on the cards is good and it does make for an entertaining evening (especially with a horror movie on in the background to really hit the theme!)
