Reasonable play in the same vein as other Unlock! games. This particular scenario was a little forgettable, and in one case you had to use the mechanism in a surprising way which left us stumped for a while.

They’ve been out on the far side of the Atlantic for a while now, but the three new Unlock games finally reached the U.K. in December. Here they’re sold as a single box of three games with each described as a different difficulty level, and House on the Hill is the first and easiest.

This game is set in a haunted house, and your aim is to lift a curse and drive away the demonic spirits. The game tries hard with Unlock’s typically high quality artwork, plus creepy audio from the app and suitably...

Ahhh, lockdown 2.0… It’s back and it’s gloomier than ever. So I find myself once again at my board game shelf, rummaging around for fun things to do with Player 2 at home. Enter “The House on the Hill!”

Oops – this one has actually been on my list for MONTHS. I’d put it aside as a perfect Halloween game to play. Halloween came and went. So better to play this one late than never! Even if we did choose to play this on a sunny Saturday morning instead of a candlelit Halloween evening it’s designed for.

A harder game, but it flowed better than other Unlock Games. We even managed to complete the game in 48 minutes. However, we suffered a number of penalties on this game which reduced the fun. Also one hidden number was unseeable – even one we had the answer we couldn’t see it!

If you love tabletop games and escape rooms, this is the perfect game for you.
This box-set escape room board game comes with not one but three separate scenarios for you to play. There’s nothing too wacky as far as story goes: take your pick from a haunted house, a pirate island, or a sunken wreck on the ocean floor…

It's a very reasonable escape at home game, the artwork on the cards is good and it does make for an entertaining evening (especially with a horror movie on in the background to really hit the theme!)
