Can you go deep behind enemy territory and stop a missile strike which endangers the safety of the entire world? There is 60 minutes before launch, you need to break into the control centre and stop the launch or the consequence will be catastrophic. Sabotage is the sequel to our classified rooms.

I
was supposed to tackle this as a team of four, but someone dropped out last
minute. As it's a five-star room, I went in with low hopes of breaking out.
Story
Save
the world by stopping a missile strike.
Puzzles
Hard,
with a capital H! Although we cracked some of them quickly, others had us
completely stumped. They were army-themed, and a couple of practical tasks were
involved to spice things up a bit. One of them stood out as particularly novel to
me. Clues weren't coming when we needed them, but even so, we'd have needed
many more to get out.
Mise-en-scène
'Enemy
territory' was uninspired. As mentioned, the puzzles and props contributed to a
military environment, but it was otherwise
a basic office.

Comments
We
were at least four puzzles away from success. Take your best team for this
room.
This is their hardest game, we liked it slightly less than the others more due to there being a lot of looking for things rather than puzzles, we find that harder. Still enjoyed it though. John was a fabulous host.
We were very disappointed by Classified which is meant to be the prequel to Sabotage, so had low expectations when attempting Sabotage with a new crew but were surprised by some of the puzzles that brought laughter and excitement. One of the last puzzles of the room was on the edge of being too difficult or too random, so this one brought a bit of frustration but overall a good evening with one big surprise that we all enjoyed.
Sabotage is not a particularly showy game - the modern setting translates to a fairly stripped-down theme and mostly straightforward props. But it's a well designed and satisfying room, and some nice touches give it an edge of understated humour that I really enjoyed. And the difficulty is sufficient to give even the more experienced teams plenty to get to grips with.
It does use a quite remarkable number of padlocks, though these are very much on-theme. There are also quite a few promising-loo...
