great hosting😨creepy

Lost Souls was my first ever escape room experience. Grabbed a deal on Groupon and headed out with family and a friend. The guy who runs it couldn't be nicer and was super welcoming. We enjoyed the room itself as our first room and all had a great time but after playing several other rooms since it is a bit plain, some of the puzzles don't flow well and there's no clock or clue system and we were given 3 clues where we had to wave at the camera and the game host would physically come into the room to give us a hint which broke the immersion a bit.

Don't let this put you off though as we still all had a great time.

Our team of 6 escapists attempted The Lost Soul on a sunny day of July and we absolutely loved it! The atmosphere of the room is one of the most immersive (and creepy) I've had the chance to experience so far. I regretted that the room had no clock to check how long we had left or that the game master had no way of communicating with the team unless entering the room to help out. (But it was still a new place in 2016, so that may have been fixed since then). The owner and creator Craig is a lovely guy, passionate about Escape Rooms! It was really awesome to experience one of his rooms. We will be back to try the Death Row. I seem to be the first reviewer so: If you love Escape Rooms, you should GO AND TRY one of Lock Down Escape Rooms, you can feel the passion and the hard work that were put into the place and the clues and puzzles are different from other rooms you may have tried before: really hand on and a real atmospheric experience. πŸ™‚ (The group of girls before us even screamed like mad... :))

A room that felt a bit two dimensional to me. At the Groupon/Wowcher prices it seemed reasonable value, but at full price this room just didn't excite me and the fact that clues are given by the host walking into the room really put me off.
We started off better with a bit more variety in puzzles this time, however when we got halfway through and the game started to get creepy, all of a sudden despite not having signalled for a clue there the owner is, β€œhow are you doing?” and BAM, the immersion rating disappears.
