Cursed Tales

 We enjoyed the mother when it was released last year so we thought we would give Cursed Tales' new online escape a go. The best points of the game for us were the interesting story, lovely visuals, loved how the rooms would change hinting at a bit of a sinister vibe, brilliant voice over work for the narrated elements and it was great how the puzzle difficult grew as we progressed through the games starting pretty easy and then culminating in a few tough puzzles in the attic. We had to get a solution on one of the last puzzles, but other than that it was a super fun experience.

Not creepy at all. Puzzles are not overly intuitive and several do not really fit with the story. Seemed much like a series of puzzles with a disconnected theme, just for the sake of creating a game. Disliked that you only receive one vague hint and then the solution. Outside knowledge needed and resulted in solution needing to be accessed. 

Really enjoyed this game and played it on the standard setting. Having already played their other game the forest it was great to to give this a go. The story was quite harrowing and again loved the way they use film and characters. The setting for this game looked amazing and enjoyed playing.

The puzzles were less difficult than the forest however very clever and enjoyed exploring the setting. 

The game had an enjoyable story to follow and the use of different map areas to explore was great.

The game has some wonderful puzzles, but also a couple of puzzles that still left us scratching our heads even having taken the solutions.

Overall a fun game.

Awesome game, played with friends on new years day. Loved the build up with the video and the atmosphere if the game. Some fun and some more difficult puzzles that made me think which just added to the experience. There was one puzzle that had us all shouting and laughing at the same time. We will try another with these guys I think

We decided to play with friends on Christmas Eve after enjoying ‘The Mother’ it was definitely a step up for us and we loved it! The storyline got us hooked straight away and we were intrigued to find out how it would end!  Nice range of puzzles and the right level of challenge, the hints guided us to the right direction which came in handy on numerous occasions! Would definitely recommend! 

This one (in "standard" mode) was quite a bit trickier than "The Mother".  But tricky in a way that perhaps could use more signposting in places. Definitely an improvement from their first game in that there was more to it.  

 Some clever puzzles but also some questionable ones.  A word puzzle with many possible solutions required us to use the hints, and a combination whose ordering has no explanation, even in the hints/solution. 

The background music was very loud, so we had to mute our browsers which is a shame, a bit of forest ambient sound would have added a more immersive vibe. 

Disappointing how the game ends with a blank black screen?  Have a feeling that was a glitch?

We really enjoyed “the Mother” so decided to give THE FOREST a go and it was a lot more difficult but just as fun! The puzzles were next level and with this being only our second virtual escape room it was a challenge! We love the way cursed tales tell the stories and we really felt like we were invested and were desperately trying to escape! Looking forward to the next one!
