I've thought long and hard before posting this review but I'm going with my gut.

I was pretty disappointed to be honest - having played two other games at different venues on the the same day as this, I was hoping to finish with a bang. Unfortunately this room let us down with one really annoying puzzle that caused us to fail the room near the end.

As per a previous review, I'm guessing this is the same puzzle and as two experienced reviewers are saying the same thing I hope that the location will take this on board. The puzzle in question relies on recognition and due to the subdued lighting and ambiguous choices we were stumped and as no clue was forthcoming other than the same one repeated multiple times we pretty much gave up and waited the time out. It's very frustrating when you know how to solve the puzzle but just can't make out detail enough amongst a lot of choices.

Aside from that the room reuses certain elements which felt like a bit of a cheat when the space available was more than adequate without needing to do it. It also has a lot of low light time so bear this in mind if your eyesight isn't the best.

On a positive note, the theming was excellent and the host friendly and knowledgeable.

We've played other, better games at this location.

As our 50th room, Violet will be remembered for a number of reasons. Obviously because it was our big 5 0, but the room itself, the immersion, the puzzles and the creepiness were all brilliant. This is Escapologic’s newest room at the time of trying and they say it is a mid-range difficulty, however they are starting to say that teams are struggling to get to grips with it and the difficulty might be higher than first predicted. It is completely different from anything we have taken on before in terms of how open the room was was and the puzzles being available to us. It is certainly worthy of being part of the Escapologic range of games!
